Hive like reaction during 3 hr glucose tolerance test

Hi mamas!
Did anyone else have an allergic reaction during the 3hr glucose tolerance test?
I initially failed the 1 hr by 2 points!!
I fasted and arrived on an empty stomach;The nurse was able to take my blood to measure my fasting blood sugar, I drank the nasty sugary syrup- they returned to take my blood after 1 hr, then I puked it all out. 5 mins later, my face became super red and began to swell up like hives. Is this normal? Did anyone else have a reaction to the drink?

I was nauseous this time with the 3 hour but was able to keep it down. I’ve never heard of hives from it! Was your doc concerned? I’m assuming you have to do it again and that SUCKS!
