  • Anyone else have a low score on an anemia test? I haven't talked to my doctor about the result yet. Does adding more meat/ beans/ spinach to your diet really help?

    Anyone having regular Braxton hicks already?
    My *bits* are already swelling and I’m also getting lightening crotch. I’m assuming this baby is just sitting lower?

  • Ay-ya! My blood work that showed my anemia also says that my blood sugar was high. Eesh! Anyone else dealing with that or have had gestational diabetes??
  • Yes to Braxton Hicks! Yes to occasional lightening crotch- youch.

    @lexilougolden I was anemic with my first and was put on iron. I just started iron as soon as I knew I was pregnant this time and feel so much more energetic this time.
  • @lexilougolden I’ve been anemic since first tri with this one (possibly before I was even pregnant but haven’t had blood work in awhile prior). I’ve been on iron every other day since and adding more meat to my diet. Plant based Iron (in beans, spinach) doesn’t absorb well enough to really combat anemia but those foods are still good for other nutrients. I have my follow up labs in two weeks so we will see whether or not the iron worked 
  • I've taken beef organ capsules to help with low energy levels. They help boost iron levels so I up to the maximum dose during the last few weeks of pregnancy, in preparation for the birth, and then continue through postpartum. 
  • So far I've been feeling a lot more kicks, especially when it's lunch, dinner, or bedtime.  I've noticed (probably because it's actually getting warmer outside) that my pits are getting pretty stinky at the end of the day.  I've also been really craving watermelon.  I got so giddy when I remembered I had some watermelon in the fridge the other day.
