5 1/2 weeks and an elementary school counselor running around after other people’s kids 😅 I’ve come home everyday and taken a nap this week. Somehow I worked out yesterday before I fell asleep and I’m exhausted
I have been so fatigued this pregnancy, definitely worse that the first two. I've just been so exhausted and had so many naps. Though it's definitely started to lift a bit this last week now I'm coming towards the end of the first trimester.
I’ve been trying to nap when my 2yo naps, which is late morning/early afternoon. Downside is that I’m STARVING for lunch (and queasy) by the time we wake up.

I feel like I am having a really rough time sleeping, I think I’ve only taken 2 naps, and I wake up all the time at night. Anyone else experiencing this?
I have a hard time sleeping through the night too. I'm normally exhausted and fall asleep just fine but in the early morning wake up and feel like I don't fall back asleep for hours. Just in a fog of half wake half asleep state tossing and turning until I get up for work.
Same! I fall asleep very easily, but like clockwork, I wake up at 4 a.m. every morning. I toss and turn until I get up to go to work. Lately, I have been coming home during my lunch hour for a 30 min nap. If I don't get that, I have to take a quick nap after work or I can't survive the evening with 3 other kids.
Hey! I never experienced insomnia before this pregnancy but I am really experiencing it. I can’t fall asleep and I toss and turn and like new mom said I’m in this fog. I feel very exhausted and was scared that this isn’t normal this early in the pregnancy. Has anyone tried anything that has helped them ?
Magnesium Calm supplements & unisom are both safe/can help. There’s a huge spectrum of what’s “normal” in pregnancy - and exhaustion and insomnia are both “normal” 🥴
Thank you for your suggestions. I’ve heard of unisom and my doctor told me to take it as needed. But I’m afraid I’m having trouble with sleep everyday and I’ll become dependent on unisom if I take it everyday. I will check magnesium calm supplements.
I am hoping it will get better because I am feeling very sleep deprived and don’t know much as this is my first pregnancy.
People take unisom everyday in combination with vitamin B6 to control morning sickness. So I would assume it's safe. I don't take the brand unisom, but the compound that is branded as Diclegis 10-10mg (which is unisom +B6) 3 times/day all of last pregnancy because of terrible nausea. I still take some this pregnancy, but I can take it at a lower dosage than last pregnancy and hoping my nausea will go away in the next few weeks. For my insomnia (and to help my gestational diabetes), I took a cup of warm milk just before bed. It's not a cure all but it did help.
Lol, I've been having a hard time keeping my eyes open after eating breakfast. Didn't help that I have Hashimotos Disease so I'm always tired anyway. But apparently baby has decided any and all energy is now theirs. Lol
My magnesium is coming in this week! Hopefully it helps. I stay in bed for hours at night to only sleep for 2 hours right before work. 🙁 but I’m hopeful
