DH and I have decided to keep baby boys name just between the 2 of us until he is born. It is CRAZY the amount of people who think we should tell them. We’re not even telling my oldest and it’s the one thing we are not sharing. I forgot the audacity that people have. I honestly just want to hear any opinions, good or bad. I am so open about my life to everyone, it seems so crazy that if you want to have one thing, people think you owe them information.

i think it’s sweet to keep the baby’s name to yourself til birth, it prevents name judgment and pressure to choose a name that others like, only you’re growing this beautiful human

We’ve shared our possible names but we are team green. Definitely have gotten some odd looks since we stick to pretty old/vintage names (mostly from our own family trees). We like that they are rare in today’s time and that we are honoring some of our ancestors as well.

We don't tell names until after they're born, this was a big rule I had to give my husband because I know how people are about names giving their opinions and I don't want to deal with the opinions of others when I have a name we both like. I saw cousins deal with this on multiple occasions because you know everyone else should be able to name your kids. 

My young cousin, had a baby 5 months after me, she was giving out names in assuming to have some input from someone Else because there was no father in the picture. Every name she thought she liked my family told her why she couldn't name her child that. She finally settled in a name that rhymed with my daughters name, the one born shortly before hers. She came to me to ask permission in naming her daughter, I told her she can name HER daughter whatever she pleases. No one can stop her from that especially not me. If she likes the name of my daughter, she can name her that as well, she has to like the name and that is all. She named her the rhyming name and they are the best of friends. 

We've also been team green for 3 babies so we didn't really have names picked out until they were born. We still don't have a name picked out for this one.

I think it's so crazy why people are this invested in what someone else wants to name their child! The parents and child are the ones that have to live with it, nobody else. So yes, keep holding onto that secret until it's time to share the birth news! 

For our son and this baby we had the names picked out and thankfully didn't get negative opinions from relatives or friends. I was a little worried with my son because I found out after I already fell in love with the name that one of my husband's cousins has a son a few years older with the same name, but the only time that's been an issue so far has been in family gatherings with both of them when I call out his name 😅

Like why do people care that much? So frustrating. And also, if you don't like it, just say you do and move on with your day, we don't need your opinion.
