proctalgia fugax during labor

Looking to see if anyone has experienced proctalgia fugax during labor (sharp shooting rectal pain, specifically at the top of each contraction) and had a subsequent labor/delivery where they didn’t experience it? My first birth was unmedicated and I thought this horrendous pain was normal labor pain so for my 2nd and 3rd I chose to get an epidural because I was SO scarred and terrified of reliving this specific pain. Pregnant with my 4th and wanting to try unmedicated again but really only if there’s the possibility to not experience proctalgia fugax. It’s so much worse than regular contractions.
