How to roll over with a pillow between my legs

I have been having odd pain on one side of my lower back, sleeping with a pillow between my legs has helped with that.  However I find I don't get as much sleep because I can't seem to figure out how to easily roll over with it without either:
- loosing my blankets and sheets, or
- having to fully pull both legs towards me and try to get the new bottom leg wiggled under it without kicking it away and becoming fully awake again.

  • If you get one of those pregnancy pillows that’s a big u shape it might help. With those, the pillow wraps around you so you would be able to turn over and put the other side in between your legs when needed.

I'm definitely going to look into getting one of these today.
  • I hope it helps!
  • Yes!!! Get the big U shaped pillow. It is a lifesaver. You can sleep on it with your head on the curve of the U of your legs on the curve of the U. I had a friend who could only have her pillow under her head. She used it the latter way.
I love my pillow! I used it each pregnancy and it has gotten better with each one getting slightly more worn! Congrats!!!

  • I was trying to decide which to get and was getting overwhelmed.  I got home yesterday and my husband surprised me with one.  I haven't even totally figured out where to put my arms, but I've already slept so much better! Thanks @knottie4030763df97ba78d and @finalcountdown5 for the suggestion!
  • @MinnieMay9 what a good man! My husband actually stole mine last night in his sleep. He felt awful this morning, but he did say he slept amazing. I may just surprise him with one. Separate beds will be next 🤣
We always joke the pregnancy pillow is like "the other man" as soon as I'm done with it he is all to happy to get rid of it.
After this bab which I believe is our last I think I'll split it into 2 body pillows for us to enjoy.
So glad it helped! I was so upset with myself that i put off the pillow and undies with my first. As soon as I find out I get those out now.
  • To roll over with a pillow between your legs without losing your blankets or waking up fully, try this: Keep the pillow firmly between your legs, then bend both knees slightly. As you roll over, use your arms to adjust your blankets and sheets, making sure they stay in place. Roll slowly and smoothly, so the pillow doesn't slip. With practice, this should get easier and help you stay comfortable without waking up too much.
  • To roll over with a pillow between your legs without losing blankets or waking up fully, try this method: Keep the pillow snugly between your knees as you slowly bend your knees and hips. Use small movements to roll onto your back, then onto the other side, keeping the pillow in place. You can gently grip the top blanket with one hand to prevent it from slipping. Practicing this technique should help you maintain the pillow's position while minimizing disruption to your sleep.
