TTC After a Loss

Lower BBT after loss

Hi! I am 30 days post-loss and patiently waiting for my cycle to begin again. I use the Oura ring to track BBT and have noticed much lower luteal phase BBT..hovering just around baseline instead of the usual +0.5 and above. I know pregnancy loss throws everything off for a bit - just wondering if anyone else noticed lower BBT in the cycle following their loss.

Re: Lower BBT after loss

  • @aerich03 Yes, the only normal after miscarriage is that there is no normal.  Your cycles can go back to what they were, or they can be completely different, including length, symptoms, etc.  It can take up to a year for them to regulate out to a new 'normal' for you.  Also, if you still have any HCG in your system, that can also affect your cycles post-loss.  I remember some wonky temperatures (although it's been a while for me, so I can't exactly remember in what way precisely they were wonky) following a few of my miscarriages. Hopefully you'll be able to see a shift and your temperatures will normal out sooner, rather than later.  I know this is a very stressful time.  I'm sorry for your loss.

  • Thank you @dpjennifer. Temp dropped last night and I’m testing positive on ovulation test. Haha. Who knows what the heck is going on. Thankfully, bloodwork showed no HCG on 3/25!
