Infertility

Poor responder

Been ttc for over a decade. Got medical help since 2019. Went through numerous medicated cycles (oral and stim). Did three round of IVF. First round with one mature egg but didn’t make it to day 5. Second & third rounds ended in cancellation due to lack of responding. Low AMH, on thyroid medications, and poor responder to the medications even in highest dose. Tried antagonist, lupron suppression, & minimal protocols…none that work. Anyone in the same situation? I am so drained.

Re: Poor responder

  • I’m in the same situation. I’ve been trying since December 2017. 9 miscarriages, 3 failed egg retrieval IVF cycles never got more than 2-3 eggs and none grew out. My ovaries don’t respond to the IVF meds. The same 3 types of IVF cycles without success. If it helps knowing others are going through the same thing, that’s all I can give you. I don’t have much time left to keep trying and I’m not sure it makes sense to keep going through it.

It's been a tough journey for you, and it's understandable to feel drained. It's important to know you're not alone, as many women face similar struggles. With low AMH, thyroid issues, and a lack of response to various IVF protocols, I guess you need to seek personalized guidance from a fertility doctor experienced in handling complex cases.
Have you tried a second opinion from another specialist? This might help. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced on your journey to conceive. The emotional and physical toll of infertility treatments can be overwhelming.

Hi, I am really sorry you are going through this. What I would like to suggest is to read or participate in webinar on poor responders. Many of these webinars allow you to ask questions directly to the experts as well. Good luck on your journey.
