1st Trimester

5 weeks, low progesterone

Hi everyone, I am 5 weeks today, last summer I had an ectopic pregnancy and found out early that I am not expecting again. I have had an ultrasound and the gestational sac is in my uterus, but now I have started spotting, not much but enough for my anxiety to go sky high. I did my first round of bloodwork yesterday and my HCG was only at 77, and progesterone was at 1. I go tomorrow for another round of bloodwork to see if my numbers are at least doubling. Did anyone else go through this and come out having a healthy pregnancy? What can I do to help my progesterone? I’m trying everything I can at this point to save this little bean. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Also I’ve left 3 messages for my OB and have not received anything back 😭

Re: 5 weeks, low progesterone

  • @cdavis2418 The unfortunate reality is that if you're going to have a MC, there's nothing you can do to stop that from happening.  Waiting to see what the next beta HCG number is, and if it's doubling is all you can do.  Waiting for doctor to call back and let you know about the progesterone and if you need a supplement for that is all you can do.  If you don't feel comfortable with your doctor, you can always try to find a new one.

  • I miscarried this morning. Going to start seeing a fertility specialist. Thank you
