Re: Weekly Check-in 3/4 - 3/10 🦄

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 24th / 6w + 4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): as tall as the edge of a Reese's peanut butter cup

Team blue/pink/green: TBD, my guess is pink and my husband's is blue

Upcoming Appointments:  3/20 for my first appointment

How are you feeling?: Like time is crawling. The wait for that first OB appointment and ultrasound is no joke. I think a lot of anxiety will go away when/if that initial appointment goes well and then everything will start to finally feel real. I had a nice productive weekend organizing the house and taking some much needed naps so I feel pretty good going into this work week.

Rants/Raves: Rant - I went to target this weekend to buy plastic storage bins, pulled out and folded all of my daughter's clothes that are too small and packed them away only to find out I bought the wrong sized lids... Doh. Guess I have to go back to Target, which I struggle to do without spending $200. Rave - I discovered a new recipe last night that was delicious. It was roasted cherry tomatoes with garlic, herbs, lemon, olive oil, cumin and a few other seasonings, spooned on top of burrata cheese and served with crusty bread. I would eat it every night this week if I could, yum!

Questions: For anyone who has been pregnant before, did you experience fewer symptoms with your 2nd pregnancy? Last time I had some nausea but definitely had sore boobs and bad fatigue. This pregnancy I have almost no symptoms, which is of course nothing to complain about, but it does make me nervous. At least the lousiness I felt last time reassured me that things were happening in my body.

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? It changes daily, there are so many places I want to visit. Right now probably the south of France or Italy (I've been to Italy but there are other cities I'm dying to see like Puglia or Bologna).

Baby is the size of a (an): pea

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

    Upcoming Appointments: first appointment 3-21

How are you feeling?: SO TIRED and a little nauseous

Rants/Raves: Waiting so long for the first appointment is driving me crazy. I keep thinking, what if it's not viable? I'm growing so attached to this Little One, I can't imagine how attached I'll be in another couple weeks.

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Not quite the same as top of my bucket list, but right now I'm really craving a gorgeous and quiet mountain trip.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Oct 29th, 5w6d… 6w tomorrow!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM + Bonus Mom

Baby is the size of a (an): seed??

    Team blue/pink/green: tbd!

Upcoming Appointments: blood test today, ultrasound on 3/14!

How are you feeling?: same as everyone else… I’m SO TIRED!!! I work from home and I’ve been struggling. I also keep getting headaches. Sometimes they will strike and just be painful and then they’ll go away. Also sore boobs, and some constipation.

Rants/Raves: rant… I’m tired at the wrong times. Rave… happy to be pregnant!

Questions: is anyone else dealing with headaches that just kind of hit you out of nowhere?

Any advice on how to deal with the tiredness but being sleepless when you finally lay down in bed?

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? New Zealand and seeing the northern lights!

Baby is the size of a (an): dime!

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: last scan with my fertility clinic on 3/13 - hard to believe!

How are you feeling?: mostly good. My energy has been better over the last few days. I’m super bloated though.

Rants/Raves: Rant - I can’t believe allergy season is starting already, I’m so not into this. Rave - I found a ton of frozen fruit in our chest freezer that I’d put up in the summer and made some blueberry muffins today. They were so good!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I’d also like to see the northern lights! Properly, I mean - I saw them once but they were just a glimmer on the horizon. I’d also love to see more of our national parks.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 12, 8 weeks + 3 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): dime

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: First appt this Friday 3/8 finally!

How are you feeling?: More energy in general, bloated and acid reflux at night is new

Rants/Raves: Rants: My boss quit last week so now I’m considering whether I’ll need a new job, but I don’t feel like I’m in the position to that! Raves: Baked some chocolate chip cookies last night and I’ve really missed baking. Only had one though because I haven’t had a major sweet tooth. Normally I’d have five!

Questions: What is your number one question to ask your OBGYN at your first appt?

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Portugal. I was hoping I’d get to go this spring, but now we’re using our savings for a different type of adventure.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 5w6d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): appleseed

    Team blue/pink/green:

Upcoming Appointments: 6w ultrasound tomorrow to hopefully confirm heartbeat

How are you feeling?: Nauseous. Just started a couple of days ago but it is really wiping me out. Drinking seltzer and keeping salty snacks on hand seems to help but my plans to keep working out have been derailed.

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Italy. I started learning Italian last year but I got too busy and gave up.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/29 - 6w0d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): sweet pea

    Team blue/pink/green: green

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/20.

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling like I'll soon need to bust out my sleeves of Ritz crackers before i get out of bed each morning. Starting to feel slightly nauseous as soon as I wake up, but my stomach settles once I'm actually up. Ritz crackers helped for my first pregnancy, so I'm hoping to have these at hand the second time around. Other than that, very excited that I have another week down and am that much closer to seeing baby at my first appointment.

    Rants/Raves: None this week.

Questions: I know that answer is to check with my doctor. But has anyone gone through the following, I registered to cycle 25 miles for Cancer Research and had been training on my Peloton up until Friday because I started spotting (I think it's normal because it wasnt bright red or clumpy and has now stopped) but was told by the OBGYN nurse I called that I should stop working out until my 3/20 appointment. Which I understand is for safety. I wouldnt want anything happening to baby. The event is 4/7. Do I realistically stand a chance at "training" for the event if my doctor clears me? I am relatively active and worked out the whole time during my first pregnancy.  Would you cycle or sit this one out if your doctor cleared you?

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I don't think i have a place per say. I've done a lot of traveling to beach type locations. So maybe somewhere in Spain - more city type vacation.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Oct 15, 8 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM (+ 3 stepkids 12/12/16)

Baby is the size of a (an): Gummy Bear!

Team blue/pink/green: hoping for pink 🤞🏼

    Upcoming Appointments: March 25

How are you feeling?: my headaches have ramped up, heartburn is no joke, and I’m so so moody (like constantly having to apologize for snapping).

Rants/Raves: I 100% understand that no woman can see inside their body and know without a shadow of doubt that everything is going perfectly. BUT I wish that I could! I already have terrible anxiety and the not knowing is driving me nuts. Especially since after my first appointment I was scheduled for a second ultrasound because they just wanted to check that I had enough amniotic fluid. So now I’m willing my body to make enough that everything stays safe and stable down there.

Questions: has anyone noticed vision changes? I wear glasses but suddenly they’re not quite strong enough.

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I had a month long, beautiful trip to Peru planned and paid for before Covid. It’ll have to be a dream trip for now, though.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: October 13th / 8wks + 3 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): Raspberry.

Team blue/pink/green: tbd, hoping for blue

Upcoming Appointments: 3/21. Already had my first appt at 6wks and my first ultrasound yesterday!

How are you feeling?: Mostly good. I've been more tired than normal and my sleep has been a little restless, but other than that I haven't had too many severe symptoms. I feel pretty lucky! I was worried that my lack of symptoms meant something was wrong, but I just had my viability ultrasound and everything was fine! Such a relief :)

Rants/Raves: I'm super worried about my due date... my current due date is my nephew's birthday, and it's also very close to my husband's birthday as well. I know in the grand scheme of things it won't matter too much, but I'm hoping that I'll go a little late and it'll be born later in October, just so it'll have a special day to itself.
Also, I'm a little mad that I scheduled my first prenatal appt so early when I was only 6wks. I was eager to get checked out, but my ob only did a trans-abdominal scan, and she could see the gestational sac, but nothing in it and no heartbeat. She said it was ok/normal this early, but it definitely stressed me out a lot. Especially since I've had so few symptoms, I was basically convinced something was wrong. The 2wks between that appt and my ultrasound yesterday were excruciating.

Questions: No questions, but to answer the one above - I just saw my optometrist and I asked her about vision changes during pregnancy. No surprise but it's basically unique to every case, but it's not uncommon for vision to worsen during pregnancy. She said sometimes your vision will recover to pre-pregnancy, and sometimes it's a permanent change. I would just keep an eye on it and discuss the changes with your dr.

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I've been to Japan before, but only during the summer. My top bucket list item is to visit Japan in the spring to see the cherry blossoms! I was planning a trip there back in 2019 for the 2020 spring, but covid definitely derailed that. I'd love to go there with my whole family, especially my mom.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8+4

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): 1.7 cm, measuring at 8+1

    Team blue/pink/green: unknown

Upcoming Appointments: 4/3 - second US and NIPT

How are you feeling?: Saw the first US today and everything is looking really good, which is a relief. I still feel like garbage physically, needing naps often and having a really hard time getting through the day. I’m still starving and completely grossed out by almost everything.

Rants/Raves: I am grouchy. I have a raging yeast infection. I just want to sleep.

    Questions:

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/3 + 10w!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): strawberry

Team blue/pink/green: I don’t have a preference but my husband is hoping for a girl!

Upcoming Appointments: just had my first scan, next is 3/29

How are you feeling?: I’ve started to feel tired and hungry all the time. I haven’t been sleeping well the last few weeks since I have to pee twice a night + increased mucus in my sinuses so I’m blowing my nose all night long!!!

Rants: I’ve been having mood swings and I’ve been getting irritated very easily.
Raves: I’ve been going crazy for anything that’s bread and cheese. So I’ve been eating too much Costco pizza and bagels with cream cheese recently.

Questions: (for STM+) when did you buy a pregnancy pillow? I’m still early but I have scoliosis + a stomach sleeper so I’ve been making a habit of sleeping on my side but I started experiencing lower back pain. I’m just wondering if a pregnancy pillow is worth the hype!

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I travel often so my next trip is to Vancouver for a little baby moon! I see lots of delicious food tiktoks in Vancouver so I’m very excited to eat lots this summer.
  • aa2024 As a fellow person with scoliosis and also a stomach sleeper, I would use my pregnancy pillow every night even if not pregnant lol. I just threatened my husband that it's coming down from the attic soon even though I'm only 7 weeks along. When you sleep on your side it helps keep your knees apart so that there is less strain on you hips/lower back.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 13

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an): raspberry

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: just a check in in two weeks as I had my first ultrasound very early due to rupture risk

How are you feeling?: anxious, nautious on and off

Rants/Raves: this is by far my easiest pregnancy symptom wise I was so sick with my first two, but my hardest emotionally between the rage and anxiety

Questions: none as of yet, just trying this forum thing out

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Back to Italy
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM 🤞🌈

Baby is the size of a (an): different apps say different things, raspberry I think

    Team blue/pink/green: team healthy

Upcoming Appointments: bloodwork was today, viability ultrasound is mar 11 (please be good, please be good)

How are you feeling?: sooooo nauseous, tired, bloated

Rants/Raves: work (my boss) is annoying af

Questions: honestly, I’m not sure what to ask. I’m really just trying not to get my hopes up until after the ultrasound. Anybody pick up any good pregnancy or parenting books you recommend?

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Bali
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10-14-24, 8w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): raspberry

Team blue/pink/green: unsure but I’m hoping for a girl!

Upcoming Appointments: first OB appt next week

How are you feeling?: tired and unfocused! Very frustrated bc I have a lot of things to get done but my mental fog is very heavy.

Rants/Raves: my nausea and food aversion has been interesting to deal with. I’m so used to meal prepping weekly but now I have to go with the flow daily depending on my nausea. My cravings for junk food is through the roof and it’s not my MO so it’s been frustrating dealing with these food cravings. I feel I’ve gained more weight than I shoved in this 1st trimester bc of these wild cravings.

Questions: pragmatic ways to deal with brain fog?

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? A luxury wellness resort in the mountains
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/3 / 10 weeks 1 day

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first time mom

Baby is the size of a (an): strawberry

    Team blue/pink/green: just excited 💕💙💚

Upcoming Appointments: end of March second appt. We had the ultrasound and first a week and a half back.

How are you feeling?: Sometimes symptoms are so light I just forget I’m pregnant but generally pretty wiped. Occasionally moody, brain foggy, and craving cheese and sweets 😂.

Rants/Raves: we just got a new couch and it’s been such a busy week I’ve hardly spent any time on it. Highly looking forward to busting out my new comfy maternity jumpsuit and spending my whole weekend on it!!!

Questions: answering the post about maternity pillows. I bought one fairly early and have found I think it’s helping me sleep through the night better already even though I’m sure I’m hardly showing. I’d say go for it!

My question is when do others plan on telling their work? I’m a teacher and know I need to tell my boss at some point…but haven’t quite decided when.

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? I would love to travel to Italy!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Oct 8 / 9+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM (+1 bonus kid)

Baby is the size of a (an): cherry

Team blue/pink/green: whatever we are blessed with

Upcoming Appointments: March 18th for 1st appointment

How are you feeling? Nausea has started to subside, and is randomly popping up instead of lingering all day.

Rants/Raves: I always HATE how long it seems to take to get seen for that first scan. The anxiety is real. On the upside, we go on a mini vacation next week, so that should pass the time til my appt next Monday.

Questions: Any suggestions on telling our 5 year old daughter? We are planning an Easter announcement for our family, and I made a Lord of the Rings digital announcement for social media, lol, but I wanted a fun way to tell our girl separate from our extended family.

GTKY: What is at the top of your travel bucket list? Northern US National Parks. I did a 17-state, 3-week road trip across the Southern US hitting as many NPS locations we could squeeze in. I have the NPS passport and collect the stamps that go in it.
  • @hollyvenelle my husband and I are trying to figure out a way to tell his almost 8 year old without it overshadowing her birthday, since we are telling our parents that same weekend.
  • @ledelight Hmmm...maybe make her a "Big Sister Box"? Keep it seperate from other birthday gifts and give it last or on a day separate from the other gifts, so it doesn't take away from her day, but that has stuff like a Big Sis shirt and matching onesie for babe, or custom big sib/little sib tumbler/sippy cup, maybe a book about becoming a big sister, a kid's digital camera and photo album for her to take family photos, and some stuff geared to just her. If she has a tablet/music device get her some good, fun headphones to block out crying, lol.
  • @nataleeagui Portugal is fantastic! That was my last trip before going off birth control and starting this journey. Worth a visit someday.
