@denise_amd scary! I’m glad you and baby are ok. And that you were able to see the L+D at work in advance. I fell down the stairs and broke my foot when I was pregnant with my first and it was terrifying. But everything was ok after.
I have intense bh with all my kids. They can feel like the real deal but they never progress.

Also I’ve never heard of Ursa Major deodorant but I’m always interested in natural kinds.
  • EDD 5/9, 29+4.

    TTM

Baby is the size of a squash. Acorn. Butternut. Whatever.

    Team blue

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow with pelvic floor physical therapy, 3/7 for ob and growth scan.

Feeling: tired. Achey. Overall not bad though. Been sleeping better the last few nights.

Rant: had a higher than usual post breakfast blood glucose number. Not over the limit but higher. Breakfast was always the most sensitive in my last pregnancy so I’ll be bummed if it’s already time to transition to pretty much just eggs for breakfast for the next nine weeks. lol. We’ll see how tomorrow’s is.

Rave: the weather is so fantastic man. Also, haven’t had any sugar cravings or been sad about missing out on anything yet besides bowls of cereal.

GTKY: I’ve been looking for a shampoo that will allow my fine hair to go at least two days without a wash without looking oily. And also not full of silicones and stuff that damages my hair. Tried Native but my hair fell out. Found function of beauty and made my own formula without dyes or artificial fragrance and I’m loving it. Years of searching, finally found it.

My fave skincare is Tatcha water cream but it is so out of budget right now. Boo.

  • @denise_amd so glad to hear you, baby girl, and pup are all okay! A fall like that can be so scary. I had a minor car accident when I was around 30 weeks with my son and went to get checked just in case. My uterus was definitely active but it wasn’t anything I could feel,it was just caught it on the monitor. And I get the period cramping after being on my feet for 20-30 min. None of it ever meant anything but it’s definitely good to keep an eye on, esp if it doesn’t stop when you sit/relax.
  • @HGRich omgosh I'm glad you were okay!! A broken foot sounds just like the cherry on top while being pregnant 🫠 Is it all carbs that raise your numbers?
  • @virtaur wow glad you and yours were okay too!! I didn't feel most of the contractions either, but it's reassuring to know that an occasional one is alright. The adrenaline and anxiety probably didn't help either!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/2 31 weeks!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): asparagus

    Team blue/pink/green: pink💗

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/6 for checkup

    How are you feeling?: good!

Rants/Raves: my in laws were gone for the weekend and it reminded me of having my own place again. So of course my mood dropped when they got back. I’m very grateful for all they do for us esp with H’s job being horrible. But I do not like living with people who treat me like im not an adult.
Rave is that H got offered a new driving job. It’s not quite full time but it’s $9 more an hour so hopefully it will be something better for now. I am tired of relying on the in laws for food etc.

    Questions: nah

GTKY: tell me about a holy grail product you love. Hair, skincare, makeup, household.
I don’t really have anything I can think of. I’m pretty bad at taking care of myself. I have found that I like la roche posay face wash. It really keeps the oil down. But I also don’t know if that’s because I’m getting older too 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • @denise_amd for sure!! Even when I went in to get checked (the night my induction started) they told me I was having contractions . But I couldn’t feel those. It wasn’t until they started me on misopristol that I could start feeling them
  • @denise_amd no, it’s just that GD is the most annoying game of “find the exact balance of carbs and protein and fiber and fat that will give you the right results but also it could be different from day to day based on sleep and hormones and also it gets worse as the placenta gets bigger each week so you gotta experiment every time and you just never know, and also if you don’t eat enough carbs you’ll get in trouble with the nutritionist but also to eat enough carbs you have to have enough protein to balance it which means you eat all the time but you’re full and suffering reflux and not in the mood to eat but too bad.” 😭 So I tend to eat on the lowest end of carbs needed each day so I’m not force feeding myself all the protein needed.
  • Speaking of falling I went to take the last step down the stairs and both my ankles rolled/gave out so I collapsed onto my side. Baby girl seems to be fine she’s moving and I’ve had no leakage of fluid or anything. Keeping an eye on things for now. Pregnancy really makes you unstable! 😭
  • Hi all! Just me again randomly popping in after going MIA 🤦🏼‍♀️ With my first two kiddos, I spent so much time on the bump and I’m finding it so hard this time around! I want to connect and I’m also just finding life to be so chaotic these days! Since the last time I popped in, my kids have had RSV, ear infections galore, and most recently, HFM 😩 I currently have HFM myself which has forced me to slow down and rest a bit. Hope everyone is doing well!

    EDD / Weeks + Days:  29+6

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an):

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: Had a growth scan last week and baby is measuring 40th percentile which is reassuring on the GD side of things. Had a frustrating OB appointment, I’ll spare you the rant for now seeing as I’ve basically been a stranger!

How are you feeling?: So tired. Sore pelvis. HFM - enough said on that. Frustrated with GD.

Rants/Raves: rant - third trimester hemorrhoid 😩 rave - the weather was just delightful today - sunny and 55 after snow last week.

Questions:  Are other TTMs feeling like this time is way harder than the first two? I feel like my first two were a breeze and this time I feel OLD!

GTKY: tell me about a holy grail product you love. Hair, skincare, makeup, household. It’s taking my brain too long to think of something here 😆
  • @virtaur oh lord. Glad you’re ok.

@chickaboom3 are we twins? Baby 3, hemorrhoids, gestational diabetes. 🙃
Actually this pregnancy has been easier for me, in many ways. Not the GD, and I may be eating my words in like a month. But SO FAR it has been, and I attribute that to my kids being nearly 7 and 5, and my husband being not an asshole since he’s had years of therapy since the last time. But I definitely feel more achey I guess.
I’m so sorry you’ve had back to back illnesses. And some awful ones too. I’m crossing my fingers baby is still sitting around 50th percentile like he was last time with the GD concerns. You’re also welcome to rant about your ob appointment.
  • @denise_amd, @virtaur, you all are scaring me with your fall stories! Glad you are both ok, and please be careful, stay safe out there!

I actually separated my shoulder (3rd degree AC ligament tear) walking both of my dogs last July when my husband was still recovering from his surgery. It was an unfortunate incident with a rabbit darting out too close to us and had them both tied to my waist, which I should not have done. Better to be able to let go of the leash as scary as that sounds for our pups running out! My husband does not want me walking them both alone like that any more. He barely lets me hold the leash these days when I walk with them, lol! They are pretty good dogs, but both big and things happen!
  • @virtaur so glad you're okay!! We need one of those giant inflatable hamster wheel balloon things to help us move around 🫠

@HGRich That sounds so frustrating to manage! I'm wishing you the best numbers for the rest of your pregnancy, it sounds like you have a nutritionist to check in with and I hope they're able to support you!

@stress_engine oh wow, hope your shoulder is alright now! It's too easy to forget how strong dogs can be when startled 😖
  • @stress_engine I remember I carried my daughter much higher than my sons. Like the wives’ tale. She was up in my ribs and it hurt and I couldn’t breathe. My SIL who’s having a girl is complaining of the same pain near the ribs. I don’t have it this time because both of my boys have stayed out of my ribs and just crush my bladder instead. lol. But it was pretty normal for me to deal with pain up high with my first. I’m sorry.

And the crying could just be a bad week. Sometimes the hormones seem to be released in spurts instead of steadily. I have a history of PPD/PPA, and I had a lot of symptoms of perinatal anxiety in the first trimester that thankfully have eased quite a bit. But acknowledging that that’s what it was, was empowering to me and helped me realize I wasn’t crazy. So it might get better for you, or not, but realize it’s pretty common, you’re not alone, and there are a lot of tools for handling it.

Also with a the glucose test, eating a little carb with your protein can’t hurt, so it’s not the first time of the day you’re getting hit with carbs and a sudden bucketload of them. But good protein will for sure help you feel a bit better. If you have alcohol swabs in little packets, you can take those out and sniff them if you’re feeling nauseated.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days:
    May 12/29 and 2

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first time

Baby is the size of a (an): acorn squash or a muffin pan ha

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: this Friday, routine OB visit

How are you feeling?: ok! Not loving the return of morning nausea and acid reflux, and some aches later in the day as my body is stretched to its limits…. But we have started getting more organized with prep so that makes me feel a little less anxious.

Also reaching the point where I don’t give a F at work because I’ll be gone in a couple months haha. Just doing what I need to for my team.

Rants/Raves: aforementioned nausea and acid reflux isn’t cute. Feeling a bit slower and out of breath at the gym but still trying to keep going

rave- we started watching the Beckham documentary on Netflix and it’s so good! And I’m not a sports person. I’m mostly there for posh spice.

    Questions:

GTKY: tell me about a holy grail product you love. Hair, skincare, makeup, household.

I lather myself in the cerave moisturizing cream and it’s the best. For face and body. Love.
  • @stress_engine thank you! I know it’s super common to fall in third tri because our center of gravity and balance is sh*t 🫠 but it’s still so scary when it happens!! & oh wow I’m sorry about that injury you had! Big dogs can be so challenging to walk esp if they get excited. My girls are a bit better now that they’re older but when they were younger it was almost impossible so I  feel you on that!
Give yourself some grace and let those emotions out! I know it’s hard to though because I’m not a crier either and those PP hormone drops are intense and I cried just from thinking about my baby or reading something on IG lol third tri is definitely the hardest when it comes to body aches and changes. I’ve been getting overstimulated very easily between feeling so big and having a clingy toddler. So you’re definitely not alone! Rant all you want here and know it will be over soon. Also know that if the emotions are too much to handle that there are safe options for you!
re: glucose test. It’s good that it’s in the morning for you! I had a bowl of rice Chex before I left for my appt. So probably a little less than an hour before I drank it. And then they took my blood an hour after that. Do your best to drink it in the 5 min but I know mine was more like 10 this time because I struggled a bit and took smaller sips. I did the lemon lime both times. Tastes like a flat sprite that’s slightly watered down. have water with you too. I never really had a bad side effects from it. But I also make sure I eat before it.

@denise_amd right??? An influencer I follow is due in march and fell on the stairs too this past week. We’re just all unstable beings right now 🫣

@louloumama omgosh I remember being so over it at my job with my son. It’s like between the third tri symptoms and leaving soon it’s hard to stay focused!

  • @louloumama CeraVe is awesome! Love a product that pulls double duty

@stress_engine you're definitely not alone! I cry at every little thing now. In first tri I couldn't even laugh without breaking into sobs 😅
  • @HGRich, good to know about the carry. She was transverse at my last appointment, but I definitely feel like she has repositioned in the last week or so. I can't ever tell how/where though! I'm sorry to hear that you have dealt with so many difficult pregnancy related things! I've been under a lot of stress lately and my logical brain knows that, plus throw in some pregnancy insomnia on and off and everything else wearing on me physically... The wave of emotion that hits is just so intense, it does make me feel crazy! Idk why I would think I'm immune to hormonal surges, it's just another symptom that I need to talk about, manage, and keep aware of. Thank you for for your advice and insight. And maybe I'll add a little oatmeal with my eggs before the glucose test too, that's a helpful tip!

@virtaurI have also gotten emotional when thinking about my baby! Gets me every time, sometimes just thinking she is so perfect, but I relate my stress back to her too. Like when crying about my symptoms I started thinking how am I going to be able to give her my best when I can't even handle this well, ect. The emotional stuff is especially hard for me to talk about, with exception to my husband. I appreciate you listening to my rant and for the advice! I will also definitely bring water to the glucose test. I don't think I can go an hour without water these days anyway, lol!

@denise_amd, my shoulder healed up so well! It was definitely the most painful injury I've ever had and the first few weeks were the worst. But after I was able to start physical therapy, it was remarkable watching the progress. Ligaments are impressively resilient and I think arm injuries are much easier to recover from than any injury that requires having to relearn how to walk. It's comforting to hear that the crying is common! It really didn't affect me in first tri, although I occasionally had some rage that I knew was definitely too much for the situation.

Upcoming Appointments: Next wednesday! On biweeklys now.

How are you feeling?: Uncomfortable, huge, cannot sleep, acid reflux is killing me. Oh well, lol. Hanging in there!

Rants/Raves: Had my 28w appt last week with all of the things. Passed my glucose test by 2 points - so barely! Bloodwork looks good. Repeat US to check on fluid again - it went back down to a 7 but since it seems to be staying in that range she said she isn't too worried. I just need to keep an eye out for any leaking. Fingers crossed.

    Questions: None

GTKY: tell me about a holy grail product you love. Hair, skincare, makeup, household.
Recently got a cleanser and moisturizer from Skinfix and I am obsessed! I usually use drug store products but I got a $100 sephora GC for Christmas so I splurged, and I am in love, lol.
  • @denise_amd so scary with the fall! So glad all is okay. I haven't had anything crazy this time but with my first I totaled my car at 6w (found out I was preggo in the hospital) and fell down the stairs in 3rd tri. Super scary but thankfully everything was fine. Glad you went to get checked and that all looks okay!!! Thankfully they are pretty well protected in there! For contractions - I didn't feel any, even BH, with my first until my induction. I could even see them on the monitor but couldn't feel them. This time I am having tons of BH, some even feeling a bit painful, but so far OB isn't worried. Pregnancy is such a mindf***.

@HGRich hope your numbers have been better! That has to be stressful. I also love tatcha water cream! All of their products are amazing, wish they weren't so expensive. If you have a costco membership they do have them a bit cheaper!

@virtaur congrats on your spouses new job! That's awesome news. It must be hard living with them and not having your own space. Hopefully things start to get better and at some point you can get out of there. Last pregnancy we didn't live with others but we were in a 500sqft apartment run by slumlords, it was mold infested and horrible. Getting out of there was amazing, but it took us years. Rough living situations suck!!! Hugs to you.

@chickaboom3 sorry about the HFM! Not fun! I totally get it, I was SUPER active in my N20 group but this time around it has been much harder to keep up. Glad to see you pop in though! I love seeing this thread active. Sorry to hear about the frustrating OB appt too.

@stress_engine just big hugs all around. I struggled a lot with crying and hormones with my first. Thankfully, this pregnancy has been better, though we shall see about PP. Its really crazy what these hormones do to you. Hoping it gets better for you and that you get the support you need! PPA/PPD can sneak up on you, I would just have those convos now with your support people and your OB, in case you do need meds or therapy or whatever after birth. Hopefully you won't, but good to have those things in mind just in case!

@louloumama I can SO relate on the heartburn/acid reflux. Taking two pepcid a day (the max) and still dying. It was the same with my first. He had a lot of hair, this one must too, lol.

@pennyandzooey enjoy the night off! Sounds heavenly!

  • @bserena ok I did not know Costco sold Tatcha! Thanks for the tip!

How are you feeling?: starting to have some body aches and a lot more overall tiredness. Getting very anxious and excited as we are moving into the home stretch here :) thinking back to 20 weeks it doesn't feel that long ago!

Rants/Raves: I love feeling the baby move so much lately :)

Questions: Have any of you been able to up your iron with foods? Which iron filled foods are your favorite?

GTKY: tell me about a holy grail product you love. Hair, skincare, makeup, household. indie Lee facial serum is a life saver! I have very dry skin and live in cold Minnesota!
  • My least favorite baby movement is when it feels like she’s trying to claw her way through my cervix lol that is an unpleasant feeling 🤣
  • @mar11btf we’re going to have babies before we know it!!
Red meat is my personal fav but of course it’s the most expensive. I don’t really do smoothies which would be another good way if you add spinach. I haven’t been trying very hard but I should be better about it since I hemorrhaged with my son and I’m scared of that happening again esp since I’m more anemic this time than I was with him. I’m probably going to add that to my list of questions for my doc next appt
  • @virtaur yes haha. Baby loves to claw at my cervix when I’m sitting upright at work, usually on a call or an in-person meeting. It’s a little distracting….
  • @louloumama exactly!! So uncomfortable 🤣
