EDD 5/9, 28+4. Though now I know I have GD we’re probably looking at 5/2.

Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for OB and maybe a growth scan too. Not sure. The hospital is also supposed to call me to schedule a meeting with the GD counselor. Even though I’ve done this before I feel like I have even more questions. Lol. Maybe because I know so much better what to ask and what to question about what I’ve been told. 

Feeling: exhausted. Already sick of the GD diet and finger pricks after 11 days. Just 10.5 weeks to go. 😩

Rant: I baked for hours to accommodate my visiting in laws’ gluten free diets and they wouldn’t pick a pizza place with keto crust for ME on pizza night. Definitely feeling salty. 

Rave: they did however buy some things from my baby registry when they didn’t have to. I appreciate it. 

GTKY: baby related: a postpartum doula. Non baby related: interior designer.

How are you feeling?: kinda stressed lol

Rants/Raves: my 3 yo is testing limits and being very clingy with me. So I’m trying not to lose it most days 😂

A completely decked out new family vehicle with all the safety/comfort bells and whistles

@HGRich oh Lordy how selfish of them to not pick a place to help you! It’s nice they got stuff from your registry but they still should’ve returned the food favor after you went out of your way to make GF stuff for them!

But also, I was going to be getting once a month growth scans for hypothyroidism but now with GD I’ll be twice a month. And maybe once a week toward the end to check on the placenta.

How are you feeling?: My crazy week of deadlines is over so I'm feeling relieved, but I need to do more yoga to ease the pelvic pains 😖.  Baby likes to stretch when we wake up in the mornings (adorable!!!) 

Rants/Raves: My MIL (who's already bought a quarter of our registry) gifted me a box of frida mom L&D and postpartum supplies, and let me pick out yarn colors for the dragon lovey she's crocheting for baby 😭🩷 I really lucked out with her.

I would splurge on a longer maternity leave if I could. Not baby related: I'd hire a weekly cleaning service

Upcoming Appointments: just had one today, so two weeks for the next, but nothing special about it as far as I know

How are you feeling?: Mostly pretty good. Carpal tunnel has my fingers all tingly, which adds to my waking up throughout the night, but naps are helpful, and other than tingly fingers and fatigue, I'm still feeling pretty good.

Rants/Raves: My mom and my husband's aunt are planning a baby shower for us (yay!) but seem to be making me the middle-man for all kinds of planning things rather than just talking to one another (boo!). I get and appreciate that they want the shower to be what I want, but I don't have the mental energy to pick out a menu and shop for decorations (even online).

GTKY: If you could splurge on one item or service with cost not being a factor (baby related or otherwise), what would it be? some big-ticket home repair/renovation stuff. Our house is old and while we like doing home improvement projects and are pretty handy, there are several things that need done that are beyond our skillset. There are some rotting beams holding up our porch roof, the HVAC will need replaced within a couple years, and we need to get another unit installed for the upstairs, which doesn't even have any ductwork. And adding some insulation to the whole house would be fabulous, not just for temperature regulation but for sound deadening too.

Baby is the size of a (an): Eggplant I think! Although the baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead, so who knows 🤣

Upcoming Appointments: 32 week appt March 15

How are you feeling?: overall good! We had our growth ultrasound last week to follow up on some fluid in the brain that was found during the anatomy ultrasound. Praise the Lord the space closed, but now we are seeing the baby measuring a lot larger than expected. Hoping it was a growth spurt and won't lead to birth complications 😊 

Rants/Raves: it has been so much getting the nursery ready and all the clothes washed and put away! Slowly feeling more organized.

Questions: 

GTKY: If you could splurge on one item or service with cost not being a factor (baby related or otherwise), what would it be? I would love a deep cleaning service for my home right now! I have not had motivation to do a lot of "deep" cleaning recently.

How are you feeling?: feeling fine. My runs and workouts are starting to get harder though.

Rants/Raves: my husband and I were the first in our families to have a baby, so we had to buy everything. Then my brother and SIL had a child about 18 months later, so of course we handed everything down to them. Now it’s our turn again, and it has been such a process to get everything sorted. Nothing was organized or clean, and things are still missing. Thankfully this will be our last baby, so I’m not going to have to go through all this again 😅

New family photos. We’ll definitely get some done at some point after the baby’s born.

@virtaur I get scans every few weeks because of being high risk.
