  • @feli14 Congrats on your girl!
  • @feli14 yay for a little girl! Congrats!
@curlyandpreggo hope Miami is warm and sunny for you! Sounds like a wonderful weekend.
@littlemarshmallow I think my bump stuck out way to early for me to safely ski or Snowboard this winter. I also am horrible at both and would fall and tumble more than glide down the hill... Infact last time I snowboarded I broke my tailbone lol. So I'm no help sorry lol. I'm just trying not to fall down our stairs these days.

    EDD / Weeks + Days:

    FTM/STM/TTM+: third

Baby is the size of a (an): guinea pig

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: Regular checkup on 2/26

How are you feeling?: Okay overall. My back hurts at the end of the day. I seem to have one day each week where I'm completely spent, have no energy, just feel yuck.

Rants/Raves: My genetic testing showed that I'm a carrier of a gene that causes spinal malformation. My doctor wanted my husband to get tested for the gene as well since the baby would have a 25% chance of having a spinal birth defect if he was also a carrier. We just got the call that he's negative. So thankful that's not something we have to be concerned about.

Questions: Isn't someone in here going to pelvic floor physical therapy? Was it recommended by your doctor?

GTKY: What’s your five year plan? Long-term planning give me hives  :D

  • @saltedcaramel518 I’m not going right now, but pelvic floor PT was a game changer for me after my second was born. It was recommended by my midwife because I had pretty extensive tearing and surgical repair. Unfortunately not covered by my health insurance at the time, but worth every out-of-pocket penny spent. Highly recommend if you have access!
  • @maggiemadeit I've been having lots of Braxton-Hicks as well this past week or so. So your are not alone with that symptom. But definitely talk to your Dr since you are on pelvic rest! Hopefully it's just fine and normal.

@saltedcaramel518, I asked my doctor about PT and she said that the first reccomendation would be a maternity belt. She's not against doing PT if/when I need it, but I think her concern was more that it is a time commitment with multiple weekly appointments, and not wanting my pregnancy to become a full time job for me right now.

    Upcoming Appointments:
3 weeks with glucose 1 hour

    How are you feeling?:
About the same in most areas - heartburn under control with meds, but maybe picking up a little this week, baby's position/size making it difficult to breathe and needing to pee SO MUCH, feeling bigger all the time, but also getting used to it, loving all of her extra movement! Pregnancy insomnia is worse lately, almost feels like 50/50 if I'm going to wake up and not be able to sleep for at least an hour or two. Still very stressed about logistics of health care insurance, which hospital I may be forced to deliver at, maternity leave, childcare, ect. especially after my husband's lay off.

    Rants/Raves:
Loud construction going on at work in the mornings. I was nervous about baby girl's ears, so I've been able to work from home a lot more lately and it is really nice! Especially appreciating a little bit more of a sleep in with all of the bad nights' sleep lately.

    Questions:
Does anyone have Valentine's day plans/traditions?

We usually don't do much, but this year I got us tickets to a murder mystery dinner event! Hoping that they don't expect me to act, I am awful at being put on the spot lol!

GTKY: What’s your five year plan?
Get to know this little girl! 😍 I want to learn everything about her, enjoy her early childhood and my husband and I becoming parents as much as I can! I'd love to give her a sibling too when the time is right for us. Just so ready for this crazy wonderful phase of our lives. We've waited for it for so long. I know our jobs and everything else will work out ok.
  • @stress_engine that murder mystery dinner sounds so fun. They typically don’t have you act, but since most are interactive you can ask them questions to get them to try and reveal things to you.

We are having a potluck tonight with some friends. Exchanging gifts for each other after work and going out for a nicer dinner in a couple of weeks.
  • @saltedcaramel518 I'm going to pelvic floor PT and can't recommend it enough. I did during my last pregnancy too. My midwives were all for it this time, but last time my OBs seemed skeptical (but gave me a referral nonetheless). It is an extra time commitment as someone else said, but I am doing it every other week which is a bit more sustainable (she also comes to my house, which is extremely helpful). I highly recommend that everyone go after delivery, but it can be super helpful before too if you are having issues...

@maggiemadeit Just adding that I am also have Braxton Hicks and I talked to my midwives about it and they said it can be more common in second time + pregnancies. Definitely still sounds like a good idea to talk to your OB, but just letting you know you aren't alone!

Baby is the size of a (an): grapefruit

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙

    Upcoming Appointments: 2 -3 weeks

How are you feeling?: no complaints!

Rants/Raves: excited for my parents to visit and help with the girls! One more week!

    Questions: NA

GTKY: What’s your five year plan? My husband is a planner/prepper so I've been forced to think/ talk through life goals A LOT. Planning to step down from current role as a senior manager and just work part time or PRN as a PT in 1-2 years. Maybe have 1 more kid but let's see how 3 goes 1st. Primary focus to be a SAHM and homeschooling as well as do more homesteading. I'd love to get bees, maybe a goat. Right now I just have hens. The last 10+ years we have focused on setting our selves up financially.  My husband works so much and the goal is he will cut back on projects to work more of a regular schedule vs 70-80 hours a week so we can enjoy being a family.
