TTC after an ectopic pregnancy

So we just went through an ectopic pregnancy, and the dreaded loss of that. One doctor said to wait until my HCG goes down to below 2 and I can start trying again, while another doctor said I should be good to go after my next period, so my question is if one happens before the other can I start trying after the first thing happens or should I wait until which ever happens later?! Waiting months just seems so long when we’ve been trying for over 2 years now. Anybody have experience with this?

Hopefully your journey is going well. I was told you wouldn’t get your period until hcg was low. Mine was a year and half ago, still trying 😢
