Pregnant after 35

Awful Back Spasms

Hi everyone, I didn’t expect to be having another baby this late in life. I didn’t honestly think I could get pregnant, but I guess getting my hormones a little more under control was the trick. Anyway, I’m only 6 weeks and I just found out a couple of days ago.
I got the flu the day after Christmas, and that morphed into a bad case of bronchitis. I went to the ER with kidney pain on Tuesday night. Every time I coughed it felt like someone was punching me in the back. They did a bunch of labs and ultrasounds. My kidney function is good and while I did have blood in my urine, they didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. They said, “You’re pregnant, here’s some lidocaine patches and Delsym.” The day after I got home I went to take my 14 year old to school in the morning, went to cough, and felt something crack in my back and I almost passed out. I had tunnel vision and got super hot. I ended up folded over my bed and couldn’t move. My parents came and got both of us and I ended up laid out on their couch and I was having the worst muscle spasms of my life. I was screaming and almost passing out. My parents ended up calling an ambulance because they couldn’t move me. More ultrasounds and labs later and they told me to rest and take Tylenol. I feel slightly better today, but I’m still experiencing the spasms near my spine and it feels like someone is just stabbing me right in a nerve. I’m desperate for some advice. While I’m not excited about the baby yet and it was by no means planned, I don’t want to harm the baby or cause a miscarriage. Any advice on how to feel better and not have my parents and boyfriend have to pick me up and help me put my clothes on for the foreseeable future? I need to get back to work and I start my second to last semester of college next week (online thankfully).
