Rsv vaccine

How do you all feel about the new rsv vaccine? My doctors are trying to push it but I have family telling me not to get it so I’m on the fence. I’m 33 weeks today and they are trying to do it at my next appointment. I told them not to do it at my last one because I havnt done much research about it. Thanks for any advice!

Re: Rsv vaccine

  • Got mine last week. After my first was in the hospital before a year old with respiratory viruses, I'll do anything I can to avoid it with this one

  • You should 100% do it!!  My now 10 month old had RSV in early November and we're still dealing with it.  We spent 2 nights in the pediatric ER and did a hospital overnight so her oxygen levels could be monitored.  My husband and I both took 2 weeks off work until she was feeling better, and she still has a lingering cough from RSV that wakes her up at night.  Oh and I just got our medical bills - insurance covered the majority of the costs but we still owe $1000 for her hospital stay.

To top it all off, all of the doctors and nurses we saw said that she didn't even have RSV "that bad" comparatively to other babies!
  • My doc said to wait until after 32 weeks to get it. Fully planning on getting it at my next visit.
  • I just got it after much debate at 34w5d. 3 days later no symptoms or soreness! I honestly feel relieved that I got it over with and decided the protection was worth the small risks of jaundice/ low birth weight!
