24 Hour Urine high - 9 weeks

Hello! 9 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first pregnant I had pre-e with a BP of 190/110, induced at 36 weeks.

So far my BP is normal, but my 24 hour urine came back ~450mg/24 hr. Of course it’s a Saturday so I am not able to contact my midwife and I’m having an anxiety attack.

Any experience with the same? Would love some calming words of encouragement!

Re: 24 Hour Urine high - 9 weeks

  • First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! It's completely understandable to feel anxious given your previous experience and the current situation. While I'm not a medical professional, it's important to remember that every pregnancy is different. The fact that your blood pressure is normal is a positive sign.

In terms of the 24-hour urine results, elevated levels can sometimes indicate issues, but they don't always lead to complications. It's great that you're being monitored closely, and once you're being monitored closely, and once you're able to speak with midwife, she can provide personalised guidance based on your complete health picture.

Take deep breaths and try to focus on self-care during this time. Surround yourself with supportive friends or family if you can, and remind yourself that you're doing everything right by seeking help and monitoring your health closely. You've got this! When you're able to connect with your midwife, you'll have more clarity and reassurance. In the meantime, just take one day at a time - you're strong and capable!
