Diaper pail or trash can?

Ftm mom not sure if this is a silly question or not but here it goes. Mama's guide me in the right direction here on whether I should get a diaper pail or just continue using the little trash can I have by his changing table I don't have any stink issues yet since he's little but I know that won't last forever lol so what do you suggest?

Thank you and god bless

Re: Diaper pail or trash can?

  • Ubbi Diaper Pail! It is stainless steel and works much better than plastic ones. You will definitely need more than a small trash can in the future, especially if you don’t want to take the trash out multiple times per day.

  • Finding out how to strip clothes diapers is a useful skill when it comes to making sure your infant is comfortable and clean. Stripping ensures that cloth diapers stay absorbent and odor-free by removing build-up and residue.
  • At this point I'm just looking for something that will conceal the stink or at best try to until I can take them to town and toss them in my mom's dumpster all I have out here is a burn barrel lol.

Honestly we hated the Ubbi diaper pail. There was a lot of hype about it so that is the one I added to my registry... We ended up ordering the diaper genie and it's so much better. With the Ubbi, you have to manually slide the lid to put the diaper inside. This gets messy for poopy diapers. The diaper genie has a button you step on. We actually kept the Ubbi and only use it for pee diaper then use the Diaper Genie for poop ones. It keeps the smell contained completely! This is what worked out for us! Here is the one we have if you copy/paste the link you can read more reviews/others opinions. https://amzn.to/48DlpGA
  • We put pee diapers in a regular open trash can. Stinky diapers upstairs go into a Dekor diaper pail (it's easy to use, you can use regular trash bags, it keeps the stink in except for as you're putting a diaper in, and it can be used as a regular trash can once you're done with the diaper stage). Stinky diapers downstairs go into our kitchen trash bin- it's a stainless steel Simple Human. We put a charcoal filter in it and it totally keeps the stink in.
  • We just use our trashcan because i can't be assed to get a whole other can/pail for her. Pee diapers just go straight in, poo diapers i put into scented doggy bags first and then in the trash. It helps mask the smell quite well until I take the whole can out.
