Diaper pail or just a little trash can?

Ftm so not sure if this is a silly question or not but here it goes. Mama's guide me in the right direction here on whether I should get a diaper pail or just continue using the little trash can I have by his changing table I don't have any stink issues yet since he's little but I know that won't last forever lol so what do you suggest?
