1st Trimester

Have you experienced spotting for 1 week at 6 weeks pregnant?

Hi, I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have been spotting everyday for a week. I informed my doctor on day 1 of spotting and was able to get an ultrasound on day 2 of spotting. They were able to rule out ectopic pregnancy and let me know some spotting is normal so long as it’s not heavy (enough to fill a pad) or accompanied with severe cramping. Thankfully neither of those things have happened but the spotting hasn’t stopped and it’s actually gotten heavier and more red. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, were you able to carry your baby to full term or does this sound like a miscarriage beginning?

Re: Have you experienced spotting for 1 week at 6 weeks pregnant?

  • I have been having brown spotting this week (also 6 weeks) but haven't had any accompanying cramps, so I'm hopeful but really anxious. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks and it started with bright red blood and horrible cramps, so this seems different
  • Wondering how you two are doing? I just started having a little bit of brown discharge in week 6.. no other abnormal symptoms.

  • Any updates on this?
  • I’m also 6 wks, 7 tomorrow and have been having very light brown spotting and noticed it’s a little “heavier/darker” this morning. Please help! I’m so scared.
  • I’ve also been spotting pinkish/light red for a week now. It’s only noticeable when I wipe but not enough to go in the underwear. It’s worrying me and not sure if I’m ignoring something bad or if I should go to the ER. I don’t meet my doc until next week for the first time, and been trying to hold off. I’m currently 7 weeks.

Im 6 weeks and had some pink/red blood this weekend. It got to the point where it was feeling stronger than spotting but not quite as heavy as a period, but was alarming. I had mild cramps. I went to the ER out of worry and they said the baby was okay, and it could be anything from implantation bleeding (which I learned does still happen up until week 8+!, even at this larger amount that scared me) to one of my fibroids. It’s been a few days and I’m still bleeding a bit, but my hCG levels are okay. Moral of my story here is that I know it can be alarming to see brown/pink/red, but it’s not always “bad”. I recommend calling your doctor for some next steps, just for your peace of mind, but I’ve come to realize just how normal it is to spot or bleed lightly at our stage! <3
  • Completely freaked out yesterday after this post later on that evening when I was at the market, I started gushing blood all over and passing blood clots. I for sure thought this was the end went to the ER and the bleeding had stopped. They did an ultrasound baby was still there with a good heart rate. I have to follow up next week with my OB. They said they found subchorionic hematoma. Which would make sense why I had mild spotting. Yesterday was very very scary but I’m thankful. I’m blessed the baby is OK so far.
  • I’m so glad you and the baby are okay!!! <3
  • how did you go??? I’m on the same boat
  • Also 7-8 weeks pregnant and have brownish pink spotting when I wipe, found out I have a bladder infection so could be that. But still so scary. I’m 41 and this is my 5th ❤️
  • I am currently 6 weeks 2 days I started spotting yesterday, I’m freaked out since I have had two miscarriages. I go in for an appointment today at noon so hopefully everything is ok. I have 3 living children and never bled with any of them.
  • The one and only time I had spotting and never filled a pad in an hour.. I lost the baby at 9 weeks. However, I know people who have spotted and the baby was just fine. Unfortunately it’s one of those things we will drive ourselves crazy reading every forum and nobody can really tell us what will happen because we are all different. I hope the best for everyone! My advice, stay off google and time will tell! 💕
  • I spotted exactly at 6 weeks for almost 4 days off and on light and dark brown and now I’m 9weeks :)
