Vibe At Work Has Changed

I told my work at 13 weeks and while both owners seemed excited and happy for me the vibe has definitely changed since.

Nothing that I would deem discrimination but a very definitely change in the overall vibe.

Keep in mind we are a very small team so any slight changes are very noticeable.

Anyone else experience something similar?

Definitely. I do think people panic a bit when it’s a small team because they’ll be short handed for a while, while you’re off and if you’re sick. I also think people don’t always know how to act. I found it helpful to voice if you need an extra break or not. Tell them, hey I’m still good to do xyz, I’ll let you know if I need a hand/break whatever. If it’s women, it may also be that they’ve experienced loss or infertility so just lead with kindness. My experience was it got better though. Wish you luck!
