**This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.
Diagnosis (if you've been):
Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched):
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):
How are things going?:
Any questions?:
GTKY: Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist?
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): PGT-M test development
How are things going?: We’ve pick a genetic testing lab! Our clinic has sent our file over, so hoping to hear from them soon to do intake and get started with PGT-M. Their standard timeline for test development is 8 weeks, so looks like we’ll be on pause with TTC until 2024.
Any questions?:
GTKY: Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? I’ve always considered myself a positive person, but didn’t realize how much of an optimist I am until I married an avowed pessimist 😂
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): in the TWW from IUI # 3
How are things going?: work is insane but I decided to stop letting it get to me. I'm taking a mental health today and it's been awesome to go on a walk, sit at the library for a few hours to work on my journal, catch up on reading, and now I'm doing some crafting. Very much needed and I'm gonna be taking more of these days
Any questions?: anyone taking Letrozole notice anything wild with their cholesterol? I saw my PCP a few days after I finished taking it and my cholesterol shot through the roof 😳 I know it can be a side effect but I now need to be super strict with my diet and exercise since I can't take medication for it right now
GTKY: Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? Definitely more of an optimist
Diagnosis (if you've been): anti phospholipid syndrome, old age… but plot twist, my left tube reopened! It’s been blocked for SEVEN years.
Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched until next month so we’ve been doing a lot of testing.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): following up on my health, both ttc related and not.
I saw a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with palindromic rheumatism and ant phospholipid syndrome. Which explains a lot of the symptoms I’ve been dealing with for years.
I also met with a cardiologist who wants to do a surgery on my heart, after prior heart failure and to address the holes I have in my heart. Meeting with a surgeon soon. Ideally she’d like me to have the surgery before moving forward with a pregnancy but if it will delay it much… that won’t be happening.
How are things going?: We just got a new puppy!
His name is “Bear” and he’s a rough collie. Picture in the spoiler!
Any questions?:
GTKY: Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? A realist? Generally an optimist but man this last year has taken a toll.
@charmedlifex3 cutie pup! Did the blocked tube open back up on its own or were you taking anything for it? FX for all your upcoming health checks and appointments
@winterecho glad you are taking some time for yourself! I took Letrozole and didn’t notice an uptick in my cholesterol but I don’t have pre existing issues.
The doctor said sometimes that happens with methotrexate. So the medication I took for the ectopic loss in September. 😱🤯😍
@charmedlifex3 That sounds like a lot of news to digest in a short period of time. I hope the diagnoses are offering some clarity (if not exactly comfort) and a clearer path forward for you.
Also, what an incredible pup! The floof!!! I’m obsessed 🤩
