Name advice!

Hi guys! Okay, I absolutely love the name Brigham nn Briggs’s. The hubs loves Briggs so we have absolutely settled on that at least but I feel like he needs a long name (I don’t know why I can’t explain it, I was the same with my daughter…maybe more choice? Not sure) Anyway, I love the name Brigham and I understand that it has a heavy mormon connection however we live outside Ottawa in Canada and from what I know we are not in a huge mormon area so only one person I have said the name to has even mentioned it but still liked the name. SO with all this rambling…I get that there would be a larger connection in the states perhaps but do you think that the connection would made up here as much in a way that would make the association too great? Thoughts?

I’ve actually never heard of Brigham before and I work in the school system so I hear ALOT. What I have heard is:
Briggs 
Briggen 
Briggston

I am with you in the sense I prefer longer names. It’s the two syllable rule for us. Each of our kids needs to have a two syllable name.

I'm from the US, and the first thing I thought of was the university (which is named after Brigham Young....) but I didn't immediately associate it with Mormonism. And I think Briggs is super cute- you should go for it!

Yeah! That’s why I wasn’t sure if the connection would be too big to Brigham Young but I have a feeling that it wouldn’t be as prominent up here anyway. And let’s be honest not many names have zero connections be it historical or personal! Thank you for your opinion!
I also just ordered his soother clip with Briggs on it so he’s at least stuck with that 😂

I grew up with a Brigham and never ever heard any reference to Mormonism. It's a great name!!
