When to tell my boss?

I am currently 11 weeks 1 day pregnant with my first ultrasound in 6 days, but who’s counting lol. 

Tomorrow we have a staff meeting and I am curious if I should tell my boss prior? Then tell the rest of my co workers at the end of the meeting? Or if I should wait until my first ultrasound in a week. 

My husband and I have a glimpse ultrasound where we saw our little munchkin, but nothing other than that. Both of our immediate family knows.

I'm curious to see what others have to say about this...I am 7 weeks, and nervous about telling my boss (I dont think they will he very supportive). So far I am keeping it to myself, but also trying to hide morning sickness....not so easy. 🤢 Any tips and tricks to hide morning sickness while at work? Lol

I’ve been lucky and haven’t had much if any morning sickness.

@zebrafish_3 I haven’t had morning sickness yet, but have been nauseous. I took in a sleeve of the saltine crackers to be able to nibble at when needed. And have been drinking lots of water. I’m wondering how long I can keep it under wraps as well. Especially if/when it escalates. I’m sorry that you don’t think that your boss will be supportive as well.

I think you should tell your boss whenever you feel ready. I've read that many people prefer to wait until after the  first trimester, but it's definitely a personal choice. I'm hoping I can get away with not disclosing until around 20 weeks.

Review your state and company’s maternity policy to know what you are entitled to and what you might want regarding your leave (additional time off, remote work/flexible hours when returning, etc) and come up with a plan for how your duties could be covered during your absence and upon your return. You don’t have to tell them usually until 30days before an extended leave.
