Spotting for 9-10 days

Hey everyone. Just trying to get a feel for if anyone else has experienced this. I have lower back pain that comes and goes and I have had spotting for 9-10 days now. (Did go to urgent care today and they said negative pregnancy test.) Right now is week 4 of my cycle and I have done home pregnancy tests but I don't want to keep buying them and be that person who frequently tests to just keep getting a negative. Do most people test week 4 or week 5 in their cycle? When the doctor checked she didn't see the blood at first and then she did her swab on the cervix and saw the very little amount at the back of the cervix. 
I'm wondering if this could be an ectopic pregnancy and probably will never know. But I am curious if anyone else has ever had spotting that lasted for an extended period of time. I just had my first daughter in Dec. '22 and I haven't had this happen yet with my periods either. Of course once you start googling you start driving yourself crazy. With my daughter I tested week 4ish and found out early I was pregnant with her. (That was after a miscarriage as well!!) Had anyone had these symptoms before?
