Does anyone know when does the placenta form? Will you see it on an ultrasound when it does take over... I am wondering if anyone has a ultrasound where you see the placenta take over
We got our first ultrasound yesterday and found out we’re having twins 😳 one is measuring 8w4d and the other 7w5d. Both have strong heart beats. I’m nervous about getting too excited since I know how high risk twin pregnancies are, but praying for the best.
@maple1422 I had high early beta HCG levels and the exhaustion was crazy, but my morning sickness was much worse in my last full term pregnancy with my son. My situation may be a little different though, as one of the babies is weeks behind and isn’t expected to make it to full term.
Such an interesting phenomenon, twins! I know it's a long shot, and I don't want to make it harder for you to experience, but I keep staying tuned to your posts hoping to hear that they both will actually pull through!
@ maple1422 my nausea has been about the same as my first pregnancy with my son. The only difference is that I’m not throwing up. And I spotted a little pink discharge with this pregnancy. My dr said everything looks normal so not to worry. I was shocked when she said twins bc that was the last thing on my mind, nothing led me to believe I was carrying 2 🫢
Just had my first US! All looks good and measuring on par with what I expected! Big sigh of relief!
@Molina93 yay for twins! My last pregnancy was twins and they are both healthy! Many more dr visits and depends on type of twins you are having but there is nothing cooler than their interactions and bond!
@maple1422 only 1 baby for me this time but when I was pregnancy with my now 16 months old twins. My first symptom was ravenous hunger. I don't have that this time.
we also just found out we are having twins, this is my first so nothing to compare it to, but it’s not been that bad. No vomiting just off and on nausea. Nothing crazy.
Congrats! My mom is a twin and was born in the 70s - hoping everything goes amazing for you! Was your ultrasound transvaginal or on your belly? I’m going in tomorrow and unsure what to expect!
Photo from a few weeks ago. Measured 8w1d at ultrasound, currently 11w1d, 1 day later than I originally thought I was due. Heart rate was 167bpm. Due June 10th!
It’s really amazing to me. We went in for a standard dating ultrasound, and it just looks very fuzzy and undefined. At the end our tech pulled up the 3D and was able to get this in a couple clicks. I love when they do 3D “just because”. This is one of the standard images from this morning.
11 weeks and look at that little profile! Seeing the little arms and legs move was everything. These ultrasounds make dealing with hyperemesis worth it!
I couksnt quite hear the heart beat (my midwife could but ur was faint because of how she was facing) so my midwife did a quick sonogram to reassure me! Always fun seeing her developing organs and everything (though you can really only see her head in this pic).
I got to hear baby’s heart beat today at my Dr’s appointment. Although the baby kept squirming away from the wand so it would only be for a couple of seconds.
U/S at what was supposed to be 19 weeks, but little guy was measuring not so little, and may actually be around 20! Everything looked good, but he was very wiggly, so we'll go back in in a month for a follow up. We even got a little view of his face in 3d!
Had my anatomy scan today. The tech couldn’t tell with 💯 certainty what we are having and also needed to get some further imaging so I’m headed back in 2 weeks!
I have an Anterior Placenta which explains my lack of feeling movements and could see on the ultrasound that the baby was just kicking away!
