  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 22wk 5days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

Baby is the size of a (an): papaya

Team blue/pink/green: green until this weekend :)

Upcoming Appointments: 24wk coming up in about a week and a half

    How are you feeling?: okay

    Rants/Raves: heartburn sucks

    Questions: nothing at the moment

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? I don't watch much TV if any, I'm usually reading or listening to an audiobook but I did get the fifth season of Brooklyn 99 on DVD (#eldermillenial 😂) so I've been going through that

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 6 Feb/ 23+0 (essentially)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): grapefruit

    Team blue/pink/green: girl

Upcoming Appointments: not until the 31st

How are you feeling?: generally good. Winded easily. RLP is real. More refluxy.

Rants/Raves: I hate not knowing if the aches and discomfort are normal or something going wrong!

Questions: what did your Braxton Hicks contractions feel like? This evening my belly tightened for a few minutes and felt quite uncomfortable. Not sure if it was a contraction, baby's position (she she definitely moved right before), or just gas. Followed by some intense RLP.

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? We like watching old series, so currently in Season 1 of Star Trek next gen :) I'm also rewatching the Tudors while knitting.

  • @cioccolata16 it sounds like it was probably a Braxton Hicks contraction. Mine feel like a part of my stomach gets tight and if I touch it, it's hard and it goes away after a minute or so. It's uncomfortable sometimes but not painful.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: February 24, 20+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): banana

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: Pregnancy wise, fine. Tired and hungry but not too bad. I got my COVID booster yesterday morning and I still feel terrible from that.

    Rants/Raves: I don't have much for a rant or a rave so I guess that's a good thing.

    Questions: None for now

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? I started watching the Will Trent series on Hulu because I like the books. I don't think I'm into it though. I will probably give it one more episode and then give up on it.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 16+1

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an): dvd

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan in November!

How are you feeling?: on the upswing, I think, but see below

Rants/Raves: didn’t wake up in the middle of the night starving last night, but of course then threw up this morning because my stomach was too empty. Make up your mind, body!

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now?
Nothing. I fall asleep too early, still!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days:  3/9 18, 3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th

Baby is the size of a (an): Sweet Potato

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Next Week

How are you feeling?: Better than last week, but still pretty awful and exhausted. I really can't believe how hard this has been!

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: What are you doing to prepare for the logistics of having a new baby? Particular if you don't have a lot of support. I plan to prep freezer meals and rest as much as possible. I've been decluttering the house as much as I can manage. What else am I forgetting to set myself up for success?

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? I really don't watch much TV. Lately I've been reading with the kids and then go to bed at the same time they do.
  • @cioccolata16, they feel like a tightening of the uterus, but they aren't really painful at all. Just strange!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 9th - 18w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 3&4TM

Baby is the size of a (an): artichoke

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙💙

Upcoming Appointments: Midwife and also anatomy scan in a couple of weeks.

How are you feeling?: Good! Tired, and I definitely feel it if I am anywhere near as active as I usually am (just walking, being on my feet, carrying heavy stuff, all hits harder than I expected).

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling so much more movement and loving it! I can even tell which baby is moving a little, since they are both laying transverse right now.

    Questions:

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? We don't watch hardly any TV, but when we do it's usually anime or kdramas.

  • @SpartanCat heartburn is the wooooorst

@cioccolata16 sounds like a BH. I have had a few uncomfortable ones already. When it happens if you feel your belly and it feels really tight and then relaxes after a few seconds then it was probably a BH. They are uncomfortable and noticeable, but painless IMO. Also, you shouldn't be able to time them- there isn’t a pattern to them.

@dinomeetsjedi i need to schedule my covid booster!

@halfanewt laughing at your GTKY answer because this is me. I cant hang past 8:00. All my tv is watched during the day on days off while the oldest is at school lol

@farm_mama decluttering and meal prep are high on my list. As is locating and reorganizing baby items and clothes.

@hedgepig maybe it’s a third pregnancy thing but I too am just completely exhausted and drained after the slightest activity. I even convinced myself I was anemic and had blood work done- all good. Just pregnant with 2 kids, a marriage, a house, and a full time job to juggle. Exhaustion sounds reasonable when it put it that way hahaha
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 7th, 19 weeks tomorrow!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an): apparently baby is a tall as a piece of string cheese lol

    Team blue/pink/green:💚

Upcoming Appointments: Oct 24th with home birth midwife

How are you feeling?: We are barely surviving over here. Whole family is getting over the flu. Hit us like a semi. Of all the school borne illnesses since August, this has been the worst. Happy we are on the upswing though, just in time for me to work three 12s in a row 🙃

Rants/Raves: Rant for the ultrasound tech that did my anatomy scan on Monday. She pretty much told me from the beginning it would be impossible to get all the images due to “baby’s size” and despite baby measuring 19 weeks and there being 20mins of the appt left she made me reschedule for 22 weeks to get the last 2 views of the heart. SO LAZY. She tried nothing to get the views she needed. As a FTM i’d probably be happy with another ultrasound but A) who has time for this? B) I don't want another opportunity to accidentally find out baby’s sex and C) this was the last thing I needed from my insurance provider until I could cut ties and be seen by my home birth midwife only. Oy- i think that’s a first rant for me. I was disappointed.

    Questions:

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? We just finished Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building. Love. I’m also slowly going through Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and also love. And we have started watching the new seasons of Great British Baking Show on Netflix and Loki on Disney+.
  • @SpartanCat Are you guys doing a reveal this weekend? Excited for you to find out!

@cioccolata16 Sounds like a BH contraction to me too! Mine feel like non painful belly tightening, and are more frequent when I have to pee, or when I'm walking a lot, or after sex (especially orgasm).

@dinomeetsjedi I've been trying to get my Covid booster too, but also dreading feeling yucky.

@halfanewt Glad you're starting to feel better!

    @farm_mama I'm glad that you're feeling a little better, I hope it continues 🙏
As for baby prep - we have a chest freezer now, so your question made me realize I can finally freezer prep some food! I'm totally here for freezer meal suggestions! I am planning to do some major decluttering/streamlining of the house. Our house is small and we have a lot of stuff, so I figure the more room I can make the better. For instance - I do a lot of sewing, but I figure that I won't have time for that for quite a while, so I am going to put away all my sewing stuff/fabric/machines for the duration. We also are planning a house addition in the spring, so I am planning to move stuff out of that part of the house in preparation for demolition.
@night_nurse Right? I can only imagine how hard 12s must be for you right now! I work mornings and on the days when I'm on my feet all morning I am basically useless for the rest of the day 🙃 Also that US tech sounds so annoying 🙄 I hope the next scan goes better and you can move ahead with your home birth plans!

Baby is the size of a (an): “folded up pair of sunglasses” lololol

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: OB-GYN checkup on 10/23

How are you feeling?: The heartburn/nausea have mostly subsided, possibly a result of 2T and/or the acupuncture I’ve had over the last few weeks. Still oscillating between high-energy and low-energy days, but I guess that’s to be expected? Haven’t felt baby moving yet, which leaves me with the occasional “she’s still in there, right?” despite the fact that my bump keeps growing. 🤪 I’m officially waddling when I walk (honestly thought it’d be a few more months until that happened, ugh) and am exclusively in maternity clothes now.

Rants/Raves: There’s so much to do around to house to set up for baby! We live in a small place, so hubs and I are talking about getting a storage locker for the next couple of years until we can afford to move someplace bigger. But I have to clean out the spare room that’ll be used as the nursery and I am so overwhelmed by the prospect.

Questions: I still haven’t really gained any weight, and I’m having a tough time meeting my daily calorie goal (hilarious, 100% not a problem I have ever had in my life). Hubs is worried that baby isn’t getting enough nutrients and I just don’t. Feel. Like. Cooking. Any food suggestions that are higher in calories but still healthy-ish?

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? Just finished Season 2 of The Wheel of Time and am thoroughly obsessed. Also in the midst of Lower Decks. This is a nerd household, lololol, as evidenced by the Star Trek name we’re bestowing upon the little one. 😝
  • @jamzsquared I didn’t start gaining weight until about week 18. My high calorie snacks tend to be nuts and seeds (roasted salted ones are addictive!!)

@hedgepig I just got both my flu and Covid vaccines on Tuesday and have had no reaction except a sore arm. And my last booster knocked me out for two days, so you might be lucky this time around!
  • @hedgepig we are and I am so excited! If nothing else so that we can start brainstorming names for real haha. I nixed Reginald from my husband and that's literally been his only suggestion so far 😂

Baby is the size of a (an): as tall as a piece of string cheese

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: next appointment is the anatomy scan but not until November👎🏻

How are you feeling?: still having some fatigue but I think I’m sleeping better overnight finally. Heartburn and RLP are both going strong though.

Rants/Raves: rave for the local consignment sale. I put about 300 items in since we’re clearing out the stored boy clothes that will be wrong season for baby girl and sold 110 items day one🎉 I also shopped with my 7yo because he just went up a size and found him 10 shirts, a hoodie, a nike rain coat, 5 pairs of pants and 2 new sneakers for under $100! He picked mostly licensed or brand name stuff so I feel like we really scored. Plus 2 pairs of maternity pants for me $5 each. Love saving so much on something I’m only going to wear for a few months.

Small rant- I still am not feeling a ton of movement and it’s making me so anxious.

    Questions: not really

GTKY: What's everyone watching right now? We do a lot of cooking competitions as a family, the boys really get into it. Is it cake? Next level chef, and master chef are the last few we watched, we’re also trying to catch up on American ninja warrior as a fam.
  • @farm_mama quiet entertainment for the bigger kiddos. I’m stashing away some games, activity books etc for my boys for that first little bit after baby as we adjust to quieter time for naps in the house again. I’m also planning to meal prep for the first few weeks home. My husband *can* cook but doesn’t like to do anything easy to pull out and just heat up or throw in the oven or crock pot is always appreciated by him. My current plan is to make double in February of anything that freezes well when I’m already making dinner. I also always like to have meatballs, sausage and peppers in red sauce and Alfredo on hand for easy pasta dinners or subs so I make big batches a few times a year and freeze them in family size portions.

@hedgepig same here. I’ve felt out of breath just going up the stairs on occasion recently and I am constantly up and down the stairs typically as the kitchen is downstairs and the playroom is upstairs.

    @night_nurse I’m glad you’re all starting to
feel better. What a frustrating AS appointment! And as far as insurance goes ultrasounds can be so expensive if your insurance doesn’t fully cover it. I remember being billed $300+ for each one with DS1 and that was 8 years ago!

  • @hedgepig Once I get organized I will share what I come up with for freezer meal prep. I've done 12 freezer meals in a day of prep before, but I can't remember where I got the list! I need to do some digging.

@kmw611 My H is a great cook and we really share the cooking, but... this baby is coming at a really challenging time for our ranch. We will be in the middle of calving season which H will be largely unavailable. We don't have any hired help and it is a round the clock job. In a normal year he and I share that responsibility so I am a little worried about him too.

My target freezer meal helpers are 10 & 12! I am going to try and make sure part of includes a list on the outside of the fridge of what we have and how to make it happen. My youngest daughter loves to cook so I am hoping she will be happy to help.

Planning ahead quiet activities is a great idea. I will put together a stash of easy fun things to do for each of my kids. I think with my soon to be 5 year old that will be key.
  • @hedgepig That's so exciting you can tell twin A from B!

@night_nurse I am sorry you have all been sick! Illness can be so challenging. Good luck with work, I hope it treats you gently!

@jamzsquared I live in a decent size house, but there are a lot of us! This baby will be in my room for the first two years. It helps me to remind myself how little babies actually need. I like to keep it simple!

As for food, I haven't gained any weight either. My midwife and I are just focusing on protein. She suggested simple protien balls that are easy to make and easy to eat and I have been making a ton of them.
  • @cioccolata16 Nuts and seeds is a great tip, thanks! Just had my husband pick up some trail mix from the store.

@farm_mama Protein balls sound like a great idea, I’ll check that out! I had really wanted baby in my bedroom but there’s no way to fit even the smallest bassinet in here, so she’ll be in her own space. I keep trying to tell my mom that babies don’t need much stuff and she just laughs at me 😫, but that’s definitely the direction hubs and I are aiming for.
