1st Trimester

Pregnancy symptoms tapered off at around 8 weeks

So this is my third pregnancy as well as my first twin pregnancy. I’ve had two failed pregnancies before first one due to triploidy and the second was a missed miscarriage at week 7. This pregnancy started off easy with no symptoms and I was worried until week 6 where I began to experience extreme food aversion to chicken and most foods. I had morning sickness and extreme hunger and then at around 8 week mark I noticed that my discharge was significantly less and I immediately got concerned. The following days I began to feel more normal and less pregnant. I did have an ultrasound at week 7 and confirmed both babies had nice strong heartbeats. Now I’m at week 8 and day 4 and I’m starting to feel queasy again so I’m hopeful that my ultrasound in 8 days will be good news! Has anyone else noticed these sudden changes so quickly?

I'm on my second pregnancy and on a whole, it has been different.

I don't have a bunch of symptoms like my first. Not much bloating, just really hungry (feels like every couple hours I have to eat) and really fatigued, like "I can't stay up past 8pm fatigue" and very sore nips but other than that, I feel completely normal and question if I'm truly pregnant but the pregnancy tests tell me otherwise and came back positive in seconds.

Anyways..I woke up today and after showering I was like huh... my nipples aren't hurting anymore and what little bloat I had.. seems to be gone... so then I got really worried since I haven't even had a scan yet to even know if everything is okay in the first place.

I go for my first scan Thursday and I wasn't sure if it was normal for the symptoms to just stop like that.

With my first pregnancy, I had a lot of bloat from as soon as I found out at 4weeks, sore nips even before I tested which lasted for a long time during that pregnancy but I was not as hungry as this one or as fatigued until 3rd trimester.

Just hoping all is well. I am glad to hear your scan showed all was well with you.

  • Pregnancy can be a rollercoaster of symptoms and changes, and it's not uncommon for pregnant individuals to experience fluctuations in symptoms and how they feel from day to day or week to week.

Here are a few things to consider:

    1. Hormonal Changes: Hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy can lead to changes in symptoms. It's not unusual for morning sickness, food aversions, and other symptoms to come and go.

    2. Symptom Variability: Every pregnancy is unique, even for the same person. Your experience in one pregnancy may differ from another, and this can include changes in pregnancy symptoms and discomfort levels.

    3. Mind-Body Connection: Stress, anxiety, and emotional factors can play a role in how you perceive your symptoms. Being worried about previous pregnancy experiences can affect how you feel during this pregnancy.

    4. Regular Check-Ups: It's a positive sign that you had an ultrasound at 7 weeks (2 months)that confirmed strong heartbeats for both babies. Regular prenatal care is essential for monitoring the health of both you and your babies.

    5. Discuss with Your Healthcare Provider: If you have concerns about changes in your symptoms, it's always a good idea to discuss them with your healthcare provider. They can provide guidance and reassurance, and if necessary, schedule additional tests or ultrasounds to ensure everything is progressing as it should.

Remember that it's entirely normal to have concerns and fluctuations in how you feel during pregnancy, especially given your previous experiences. The best course of action is to stay in close contact with your healthcare provider, who can provide the most accurate information and guidance tailored to your specific situation. Wishing you a healthy and smooth pregnancy journey with your twins.

  • Just had another ultrasound at 9 weeks and 5 days and both babies are alive! Such a relief!!
  • So great to hear the babies are doing well!
