Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW w/o Sep 25

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. • Month/Cycle:  7/7

    CD/DPO:  19/5

    Timing: -4, -1, O

    Typical LP length:  12-14

    Testing:  maybe 8/9dpo

R/R:  I’m still in … denial… that I ovulated?  My LP temps are just way lower than usual (usually around/above 98.2) but FF gave me CHs and it LOOKS like a pretty obvious temp shift.  If my temp is still high tomorrow I’ll start progesterone, and then we’ll see.

I’ve been either walking barefoot outside or using a grounding mat in the mornings the last week and since then I’ve been waking up on my own (& waking up pretty refreshed!) by 5:30a, so maybe it’s from temping so much earlier?  Side note — the research for grounding is compelling re: inflammation and hormone health.  I’m so super curious if there’s a fertility benefit.

CS/Q:  This is clear, right? 🙈

  • @virginiaham looks pretty clear to me!! FWIW I temp at all hours bc I rarely sleep through the night, and I still see the shift, but my middle of the night reads do often seem a bit lower than true waking temps.

I’d never heard of grounding but maybe I should give it a try. I used be an unqualified morning person but since starting a new job about a year ago they’ve been more like 🫠

  • Ugh FF joined me in the skepticism that I ovulated with a downgrade to dotted CHs.  I rechecked my temp out of curiosity and it was even lower 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • @virginiaham That's a tricky one! I still think it looks like you ovulated, but I am no expert. When I told my therapist how much I enjoy gardening, she said that some microbes in the soil can interact with your bare skin and reduce anxiety. Maybe it's a similar mechanism for grounding? In any case, glad that it is helping you feel good!

    Month/Cycle: 24+ (I'm done counting)

    CD/DPO: CD21 / 8DPO

    Timing: -1, 0

Typical LP length: on progesterone so it will be 14 days exactly

Testing: I tested this morning and it was negative. Still early but I'm not feeling optimistic. I actually think I might forget what optimism feels like. I have it for other people, but I've run out for my own self lol.

R/R: We're going to meet a new dog today. I have dog fever (in addition to baby fever) and we've been trying to find the right dog at our local shelter. It's a pretty small operation though, so it may take some time, but I'm just excited to have 30 minutes of dog time today.

CS/Q: I'm not charting BBT anymore so nothing to see here...
  • @maggiemadeit Aw even if it’s not the one for your family I hope you had a fun visit! 🐾 Do you start progesterone at 3dpo/once ovulation is confirmed?

That’s so cool about the microbes!  For grounding it’s actually physics!!  With direct contact with the earth, the earth’s extra electrons benefit our bodies in measurable ways, even on medical infrared imaging 🤯

@aisleviewoftwo girl I am not a morning person but I have still been waking up before 6 every morning on my own and not feeling my typical groggy, need to keep sleeping, morning self.  It’s really so simple, might be worth a try.

Update — Still with the dotted CHs but my temp went back up this morning. I have exactly zero of even just my typical LP symptoms so I don’t know.  BFN yesterday, RHR was accurate in predicting which way things would go last month so I won’t test again unless my RHR increases.
