Ate lots of high mercury fish weeks before pregnant

I’m really worried. My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon for 15 days. We ate fresh ahi tuna poke at least four times and other “fresh catch of the day” (possibly Ono) at other restaurants with shrimp, lobster and crab cakes.

Within a month, I became pregnant.. I know ahi tuna and high mercury fish should be avoided while pregnant but had no idea it should be avoided months beforehand. Have I caused harm to my baby? :(

  • There is nothing you can do.  Stop worrying and just be careful for now on.
  • If you were me, would you completely stop eating fish the rest of the pregnancy?
  • Just wanted to give an update. My LO will be 6 months next Wednesday and we have had a lot of challenges.

    1) Baby was diagnosed with posterior tongue and lip ties. Baby takes up to two hours to finish a bottle.

    2) Baby was diagnosed with oral thrush at her one month wellness visit. It took one round of Nystatin and two rounds of Diflucan to resolve.

    3) Baby was diagnosed with eczema at her three month wellness visit after a diaper rash didn’t clear after 2 weeks of using a zinc oxide diaper rash cream.
