Black stool.... when to worry? TMI

I have been constipated this pregnancy. I was feeling constipated last night, with what I assume were gas pains and back cramps from not being able to 'go'. This morning I was able to pass a BM, but when I wiped, there was a bit of a black 'skid mark' on the toilet paper. I looked and saw that the stool itself was not black. I'm pretty sure this did not come from my vagina, as I wiped my vagina first before wiping the rest of me. Kind of freaked out by this - has anyone had anything similar happen?
