Re: Weekly Symptom Check In 8/28

  • Hah! No glowing yet. Still no nausea at 7w,3d but plenty of other symptoms! Waves of fatigue that knock me on my ass. I am not a nap person but this weekend I napped both days. Yesterday I had a visual aura and headache… has anyone else had this happen in pregnancy? It happened for the first time around 5 weeks. So weird!

  • Symtoms are still not full consistent. I am 6 weeks today. My boob hurt at times when I free them from my bra. I'm getting nervous about the inconsistent Symtoms.
  • It's the crying at every Instagram Reel with a child or dog for me 😂
  • I have several symptoms that have been consistent: headaches, boobs are very painful, being tired all day every day and constantly being thirsty no matter how much I drink. I’ve been getting some mild cramps and I’m not sure if that’s normal, from my progesterone injections, or worrisome. I’m 5 1/2 weeks along
  • @caitcc95 I get headaches and migraines but I have them anyways. I have TMJ. At the end of the pregnancy, unusual headaches can signal blood pressure issues. But Im pretty sure first trimester headaches are normal. Maybe worth mentioning at your first OB appointment though! Even just so theres a record and no one freaks out if you get them at the end

  • Its not letting me go back sorry for the double post 🤦🏼‍♀️

definitely no glowing here 🤣 I do not feel as bad as I normally feel which has me all kinds of worried. Im happy to eat my words if 1) I start feeling really awful and/or 2) I have an ultrasound and everything is as it should be. But Im worried right now. Not that I feel good, I just am normally in sea bands 24/7 by now and barely able to eat or drink. And atm Im functional. And I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL because I have three other kids and when mama goes down its armageddon around here. But also, Ive always been so sick.... so not being super sick has me in knots that something is wrong.

  • I feel like death! Nausea, dizziness, fatigue. Extremely hormonal. I have a 6 year old daughter and an 8 month old son. I felt similar symptoms with my daughter. Not so much with my son...but this pregnancy....it's definitely kicking my butt. Due date is April 4th, which means I am currently 8 weeks and 4 days.
  • For any ladies new to the nausea game: Ive had borderline HG the last three pregnancies (I lost 10% of my body weight last time). So heres my survival tips:

Sea Bands/anti nausea bands. Dont be afraid to wear them constantly.
Eat constantly. The less you let your blood sugar spike and dip the better it will be.
Eat whatever sounds good! Dont worry about anything except actually getting
    calories in you.
A LOT of women struggle with water 😬 me included. The colder the better, so ice it up! Popsicles, fruit juices, and soup broths are often easier. Lemon/lime in the water can help too. Water rich fruits like watermelon are also good to stay hydrated when you cant drink.
Eat before you move in the morning. Even just a couple crackers can help.
Ginger/lemon candies and morning sickness candies can be helpful. I suck on Yum Earth lollipops too! It helps. Any sort of hard candy can help.
If you can put ginger or lemon/citrus on things they may be easier to eat.
Anything you can eat cold is often easier than hot (and therefore more aromatic) foods.
If you struggle with smells, essential oil lotions under the nose can help tremendously. Scent trappers, scented candles, scent sprays any of it could potentially get you through.

What you like and when you like it and what helps can change daily.

No one quite knows why morning sickness happens BUT: for MOST women, it will go away by 12 weeks. It seems to somehow be related to the corpus luteum creating the hormones of pregnancy versus the placenta. The peak of first trimester symptoms, including nausea, is normally 8 weeks. The placenta starts taking over shortly after this (average of 10 weeks) and once it does, the nausea tends to go poof. By 12 weeks the nausea is usually gone. So just hang on!

If its worth it to you, you can try B6 and Unisom in combination. Ask your OB for the dosage. Just a B6 supplement can potentially help. If it gets bad enough, they do offer harder drugs as well ( I think Zofran is one of them?)

  • Mine have been a total rollercoaster and merry-go-round combined!

Some days I feel normal. Some days I feel like a zombie. Other days it’s somewhere in between.

Nausea, sore boobs, fatigue, cramps, constipation, acne, mood swings, headaches, back aches, cravings, food aversions, sensitive to smells, insomnia, weird dreams…

You name it, I’ve had it at one point or another! Sometimes all in one day. 😫
  • Nausea has come on HARD these past few days, we’re really just out here fighting for our lives. I’m 8w3d, fatigue isn’t as bad as it was a few weeks ago, now I’m just sensitive to any and all smells.
  • I’m 7 weeks and feeling exhausted! Boobs are killing me but also I’ve been on and off IVF drugs for 2 years so I’m used to it. Light nausea -
All I want to eat is Graham crackers and fruit though. Had some shortness of breath so went to my GP and turns out it’s just low blood pressure. Not much to do but watch it and take it easy. I’m intrigued by the smell sensitivity others are having!
  • I feel like I’ve had some of everything! Nausea, headaches, sore boobs, cramping, insomnia, very vivid dreams, and fatigue by the evening. I’m 7 weeks and waiting for my first OB appt and US on 9/11, but with all the symptoms I’m hoping everything will look good!
  • I'm 6 weeks and have mainly just been extra exhausted in the afternoons, like cannot stop myself from taking a nap. I also caught a cold thanks to my kiddo starting part time preschool last week. I usually don't get sick easily so wondering if my immune system is lower now.

Part of me is so surprised I haven't been hit with nausea yet because I remember it being much worse the first time around. Crossing my fingers that it might stay away but not sure how realistic that is. I have some neck and shoulder muscle tension that can cause headaches, but I have also had that off and on for years so not sure if it's a pregnancy symptom, worse from the cold, or just the regular intermittent pattern I usually have.
