HGC levels

Hi everyone!
This is my first pregnancy. My HCG level on Tuesday (4w 1d) was 590 and yesterday (Friday) it was 2239 (4w 4d). My doctor ordered that I get blood work again next week. Is this normal practice to repeat several blood draws or am I missing something that might seem alarming in my numbers?

In my experience, that’s a normal practice. They’ll usually do 3-4 draws, once every 48-72 hours, to confirm the numbers are roughly doubling. 

I think it’s more common when you find out early in the first trimester.
