  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 9wk 2dy
    FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th
Baby is the size of a(n): Hershey Kiss
    Team blue/pink/green: Green for now.
    Upcoming Appointments: Next week.
How are you feeling?: Exhausted and gross.
Rants/Raves: Same as last week. I am so disappointed at myself about the current state of my house and state of my life. I just cannot keep up. I have a long list of things to knock out in the second trimester beginning with a huge round of decluttering!
Questions: Are others starting to have a lot of soreness/light cramping by the end of the day?
GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? He is thrilled.

  • @farm_mama I feel you on the house/life wreck - my house is a disaster and we're about to start back to school and I know it's only going to get worse from here. I so wish I had the energy to do a few last big cleaning projects, but I am barely getting by. You are not alone 💓

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 5TM

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

    Team blue/pink/green: undecided

Upcoming Appointments: none yet, my midwife doesn't usually see you till 12 weeks.

How are you feeling?: Tired, queasy, tired, sore (hips and boobs), tired, did I say tired? 😜 I've never been this tired with my other kids.

Rants/Raves: Right there with you ladies, struggling to keep up with all the house stuff. Unfortunately, DH is traveling for work the next couple of weeks so it's just me and the kids.

Questions: Also, why does everything have to smell so gross?? I feel like suddenly everyone's houses smell musty and kids are stinky, I can smell every food like I've stuck it under my nose.  🤢

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? He's so happy, he's always steady if I'm freaking out

@farm_mama yes, I feel pretty crampy by the evening, it honestly reminds me of Braxton Hicks. They started at 12 weeks with my 4th.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 7 weeks today!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): honeybee

    Team blue/pink/green: green

    Upcoming Appointments: first US tomorrow!

How are you feeling?: Nervous for US. Nauseous as all get out anytime I’m not full. Tired.

Rants/Raves: cleaning up after camping, specially all the laundry, is a pain. The wet smoke smell is 🤢 but, camping was fun!

    Questions: not currently

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? Also a little disbelief, but excited!
  • @mamacricket512 yes! Everything is smelly. I have a sensitive nose anyway and pregnancy makes it a super sniffer.
  • @k_sims Thank you so much for the reassurance! Your birth story is exactly what I wanted to hear - I have been so immersed in all the ways that something can go wrong I've been finding it hard to imagine that I could still have the birth that I want - vaginally, unmedicated, full term/no NICU time, and able to breastfeed both - so thank you for the inspiration! They are in their owns sacs, so yes, luckily DiDi.

I will add those to my list of items! I never used a stroller with my other kids, but I can see that it will be an important addition!

Baby is the size of a(n): penny

Team blue/pink/green: we’ll find out soon hopefully

Upcoming Appointments: NIPT next Wednesday, OB again 2 weeks after that

How are you feeling?: still tired and waking up at 3 am ready to start the day.

Rants/Raves: I’m with you all on the state of my house. My friend and I had a yard sale this weekend so between prepping for that, not being home all weekend and general first tri fatigue my house is a hot mess.

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? Excited but also nervous to be excited before we knew this baby would stick.

  • @farm_mama I’ve been feeling crampy in the evening too and it was making me worry but hearing a few of you are experiencing this as well makes me feel a bit better.

@hedgepig not first hand twin experience but when I was pregnant with DS2 my coworker was due 2 days after me with Di Di girls and went to 38 weeks before being induced for preeclampsia (she had it every pregnancy) no epidural, vaginal delivery and breast fed to a year. She was also so worried about NICU time and a C-section because of how many stories to that effect are online. It’s definitely possible to have the birth you want❤️
  • @kmw611 Thank you for that! I am also worried about pre-eclampsia because I had gestational hypertension last pregnancy and my BP is already on the high side. I appreciate the good stories so much 🙏

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM :)

Baby is the size of a(n): penny

Team blue/pink/green: We find out 10 days after the genetic testing!

    Upcoming Appointments: Genetic testing 8/18.

How are you feeling?: Usually exhausted, nauseous, and trying to shake off my anxiety/worry!

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? He was VERY shocked lol. We found out 3 days after our wedding last month!! He is coming around and is very supportive.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: due date from my dr is 3/18 i am currently 8.2

FTM/STM/TTM+: fifth time mama, fourth pregnancy

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

    Team blue/pink/green: don’t care either way, but I’m thinking it’s a girl!

Upcoming Appointments: 8/28 - we’ll hear baby’s heart beat and do more labs/ testing for genetic screening

How are you feeling?: just getting over like a small head cold / allergies. Tired and achy.

Rants/Raves: i feel like i can’t keep up this go round. With my house or my other kids 😂 also, there is nothing i have found that i really enjoy eating. I’m not sick from anything, but I’ll be super excited to eat something, I’ll start eating and I’m just annoyed. It doesn’t taste as good as I’d expected or i can’t finish even half of my food.

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? We were trying for this tiny, so he wasn’t shocked. Just kind of like wow, it happened. 😂  he’s ecstatic it’s only one baby! He keeps saying he has these dreams i go back for my next ultrasound and another baby was hiding and is like SURPRISE! 😆
  • @farm_mama I’ve been getting light cramping in the afternoon/evening more days than not, glad to hear I’m not the only one.
And I’m keeping up with the house and I feel like work is suffering as a result. I feel like DS is intuiting that there’s a baby coming and that’s why he’s getting clingy.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/23/2024, 7+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a(n): uncooked macaroni

    Team blue/pink/green: green for now

    Upcoming Appointments: 8/22

How are you feeling?: Nauseous, weepy, exhausted

Rants/Raves: My job is starting to stress me out, but we can’t afford to lose my income. And that fact stresses me out more.

Questions: Did any working mamas have to tell their boss about their pregnancy before the standard 12 weeks? If so, what happened?

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy?
Since we were trying, he wasn’t really surprised. And I told him when we were still half asleep at 3 am. 😄 He’s doing his best to keep me from stressing about everything.
  • @fininevermore I had to tell my boss at 7 weeks with my last baby because it was the earliest days of Covid and I wanted him to know I was high risk. I'll be telling him soon this time (10ish weeks), because the way I'm getting big, there's just no hiding it, and also I'm a teacher, so the more time to plan for getting a maternity sub, the better!

@fininevermore i told mine by like 9/10 weeks because i was beginning to show and SO sick!
I worked our urgent care and worked 10 hour shifts so it was a lot, period 😆

it’s illegal to fire over being pregnant so you should be protected by law, regardless!

@hedgepig my first bump pic i took that was full on ginormous to me was 14 weeks. I think my fundal height was 28 weeks by then. 😆 bumpin for sure.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8 weeks tomorrow

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

Team blue/pink/green: we will find out!

Upcoming Appointments: first OB appt tomorrow!

How are you feeling?: So nervous about the appointment tomorrow. This is my first pregnancy and I have literally zero idea of what to expect. I'm on the older side, so I'm nervous that something is going to be wrong! Nausea has been so much better the last couple of days 🙌🏻

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: when do you usually start showing?? This is my first, and I know if you've had a kid before you usually show sooner. But man, like... sometimes I wonder if I'll ever show. Like, am I actually pregnant?! Haha

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? He's excited. He was out of town when I found out I was pregnant so I had some time to do something cute to tell him. It's a relief for both of us since we had been trying for a year.
  • @fininevermore I told my boss pretty early last time because my coworker did and we were due 2 days apart. Since it was just the three of us at that time we needed time for hiring and getting someone ready to do everything on their own for a quarter plus graduation. He thought we were joking😂 but was also really excited for us, it was a tight little team.

@mb928 I feel like I started showing earlyish with DS1 but he was(is still) a giant so maybe that’s why.

  • @mb928 haha aw! With my first it literally took me forever to show! The first small bump i saw was at 20 weeks but to me i felt like it looked like i was just a little chubby to others who didn’t know i was pregnant. By 28 weeks you could finally tell i was pregnant, but so petite. When i was due, people were still telling me “just wait until you blow up and have to deliver her” yada yada, “oh you’re soo small”
    Birthed a healthy 6.15lb baby!

My second i showed a bit faster, my third was twins so i was gigantic. This is my fourth pregnancy and I’ll bloat an insane amount, but otherwise really don’t have a bump, 8 wks. 5th kiddo and I’m like WHERES THE BUMP?! 😆 all super early

it’ll come though! I’m sure you’re doing great!! Congrats on your appt today! I hope everything goes perfectly!  Trying for a while can be so discouraging, but praying this is a sticky, healthy baby and the most boring, easy pregnancy ever!!! 🥰 so happy for your little fam, i can’t imagine the joy when that second line popped up!

Baby is the size of a(n): Blueberry

    Team blue/pink/green: Green for now

Upcoming Appointments: 8/23 u/s and first appointment

How are you feeling?: I have a little more energy this week and a little less nausea, but I’ve settled into having bad indigestion and constantly have really uncomfortable burps.

Rants/Raves: Rant- I’ve been so exhausted and feeling guilty about not doing as many fun summer things with my toddler.

    Questions: nothing right now

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? He was excited, but also cautious since we’ve had a missed miscarriage in the past. We’ve been trying for a while, so just waiting impatiently for our u/s!
  • @mb928 My memory’s not the best but I remember showing around 16 weeks.
@k_sims Thanks!  Fortunately I have some kind of job security (my bosses love me and would riot if I got fired); I’m just trying to decide whether telling my supervisor now is a net positive or net negative.
  • @hedgepig so glad you’re feeling better! Im still so shocked for you lol. What a crazy surprise ❤️

@mamacricket512 i feel you on the smells. I can smell my dog in another room, my house is musty, the cars smell gross and oh my god I cant even think about opening the fridge in the morning 🤢

@fininevermore my direct supervisor knew I was pregnant around 6 weeks. Im a nurse though so there are some safety things related to why I told her. Still have not told any coworkers for now. 10 weeks today. With my last pregnancy I waited until closer to 20 weeks and it was equally as positive.

@lilac1022 i had a couple days of feeling so guilty about thinking that I didn’t do enough for my 5 and 1yo this summer. Mom guilt is real. But when I asked my 5yo about it he said his favorite days were the ones we stayed home and played with the water hose lol. Kids are awesome.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10 weeks today! March 7th

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): a kumquat lol, not sure I’ve ever seen one in real life.

Team blue/pink/green: Green! And hoping to hold out until the end

Upcoming Appointments: getting bloodwork done on 8/14 and midwife appt on 8/22

How are you feeling?: Feel like a cloud is lifting and things are starting to get just a little easier. And as soon as I thought that, this baby kept me humble and I had to sit my car vomiting for 10 mins before I could drive home after work yesterday. But overall, MUCH better.

Rants/Raves: Rave for how much my 5yo is loving Kindergarten. It makes my mama heart feel so good. I was probably more nervous than he was about it and just thrilled it’s going so well. And also loving all the 1-on-1 time my 1yo is getting with me and DH, especially before this new baby arrives.

Questions: what is everyone’s weirdest aversion right now? Mine is coffee which is so strange because I’m usually a 2 cup a day kind of gal but I can’t even smell it right now.

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? Shock lol. We weren’t actively trying, and obviously not doing enough to prevent. We were lying on the couch watching a show together and I handed him the stick. He immediately started laughing and yelled “WHAAAAAAAAT. How?!” He is a very chill “it will all work out” kind of guy which compliments my high strung type A personality well. He is also a SAHD and already making plans and throwing around ideas about how he’ll juggle all 3 kids ❤️
  • @night_nurse Weirdest aversion - I can't stand bananas right now! Also peanut butter/nuts in general.

  • @night_nurse I’m trying to preload as much time with my kid as possible (between trips to the bathroom) since by next summer, I’ll have a 3 month old demanding my attention. So I'm not too mad about the spots camp debacle (you live, you learn) and I’m researching camps for next year that he’ll be more interested in, like the Minecraft day camp I just found. 😊
As far as aversions, I found that the burgers I used to love I'm completely not into anymore. Bananas too. And I still want salad, so I guess that might be a good thing? 🤷‍♀️

Baby is the size of a(n): app says strawberry and paperclip, those do not seem to be the same size?!

GTKY: What was your partner's response to the pregnancy? really excited, we were NTNP, and got pregnant after my first period of BC, so of course I was freaking out, wondering if we made the right decision, and he's just been a rock, calming me down, and reminding me that we will survive, and this baby will be a special gift.
