@farm_mama Good luck! Our fair was this week, so all the local kids have been taking their animals to show too.
As for me, this is my last week of break before starting back at work. Kids start school next Thursday. I am trying to enjoy it, but it's hard to get much done.

@halfanewt My vote would have been for super lazy!
My kid was supposed to go to sports camp this week; went the first day and hated it. Well, there’s $140 gone… And I was so happy imagining him being gone for 8 hours while I dry heaved. In other news, my neighbor gave me two zucchinis. I’m going to slice and roast them right after my nap. 😊
@fininevermore oh no!! I’m sorry he hated it that much! I just signed my boys up for soccer and am so worried my oldest is going to hate it and refuse to play. Sucks to spend money on those kinds of things and it end up wasted.
I finally felt like I had some energy back today and tackled exactly nothing on my to do list but I made scones, loaves of bread for dinner and a huge batch of Alfredo to can for my pantry. I’m calling it a win and I’m so tired now😂
Hi all! Haven't done much participating here because things have been chaotic but today work is slow so H and I are doing a mid-day Costco excursion which should be fun (minus the early pregnancy/6.5 week energy sap I'm feeling), anybody got any Costco faves (for adults or small humans)?
Hey all! I know I've been mia, life has just been a bit overwhelming. I don't know why, but I seem to be struggling this pregnancy a lot more than my previous ones. I'm almost out of first tri, so praying it will let up soon.
Oof. I forgot how much colds suck when you’re pregnant. Was pg with #2 during COVID lockdown, so was cold free and apparently spoiled.
@pocketrose too late to be helpful, but the peanut butter pretzels are amazing! So are the thin mint or blueberry pretzels, if they have them. Limoncello almonds are great, and their fig bars are a good nut-free snack option. Love a good Costco run!
@mrosek91 right there with you. I think this is #5 for both of us? I thought this would be a piece of cake. I managed the nausea so much more easily the last couple of kids. Totally blindsided this time. At least the kids are more self sufficient than when they were all toddlers.
We told my parents, brother and sister-in-law the day before yesterday and they're all excited for us, but also a little bit in shock. 😅 We'll tell my in-laws hopefully soon too.

My husband told the in-laws. My MIL said she’s been having constant dreams that someone was pregnant. She thought it was a different DIL but was thrilled to find it was me. I was trying to tell my mom but it just wasn’t working out today, so I’ll try for tomorrow. I feel bad because she’s the only one still in the dark thanks to my sister.
We made it through the fair. Whew. Everyone is exhausted and I have so much clean up to do, but my kids did amazing. DD1 was awesome and had a blast. DD2 worked her tail off and earned some really exciting awards! DS ran wild, got filthy, ate junk food, and basically lived his best life. I actually felt better most of the time than I feared. My biggest problem was my jeans don't fit and I saw every single person I've ever known in my life looking very stuffed into tiny pants! Lol. I've got to get some button extenders or a belly band or something!
@farm_mama my sister in law used a hair elastic to extend her pants in a pinch. Said it worked perfectly! I’m glad the fair went well, sounds like DS had a blast! I’m looking forward to our county fair in a couple weeks for all the fair foods.
We haven’t shared the news with anyone but my best friend but I think my mom may suspect something is up. She has a knack for calling when we’re headed to a dr apt and was also here the week I got my BFP so I had multiple blood draws to sneak off too/didn’t have any drinks while she was in town. She texted me today just to ask if there was anything new going on I wanted to share, an unusual question from her usually she just texts FaceTime? And we call instead. They’ll be here in 2 weeks for my nieces first birthday and I see my ob again that week so I’m guessing we’ll be sharing the news then. I’ll be 12 weeks so if all goes well at the apt I guess it’ll be a good time.
@farm_mama I really want to go to the state fair, but between the fatigue and the nausea, it’s not a good idea this year. I’m definitely going next year, though. Glad your family had fun!
@kmw611 Moms are good at figuring out these things, lol. My mom told me she suspected something was up since I was always so tired the past few weeks. 8 weeks and no issues, I feel comfortable telling family. Another month and I’ll feel ok telling everyone in general.
