How are you feeling?: My nausea and exhaustion have been really terrible this week. It feels like if I get up and move around at all I get really sick and have to lie down. I wish that eating was not necessary right now because everything is gross.
Rants/Raves: My toddler has not been getting the most nutritious meals and has been watching more tv than I would like. I feel bad about it but hopefully this will only be this tough for a few weeks. I have been trying to get her out of the house at least once a day to do something on the days I don't work but it's been a difficult weekend with her and how terrible I am feeling.
Questions: None
GTKY: What is your weirdest pregnancy symptom so far (or in previous pregnancies)? That some sweet things don't taste like anything to me. Last pregnancy I really wanted some sweet tea and I kept making it at different times but I felt like I couldn't get it strong enough, it just tasted like barely flavored water, no matter how many tea bags or sugar I put in. Tea still tasted like that to me after pregnancy (although I only tried it once I think). This pregnancy I had some gum because my mouth always tastes bad and makes me feel sick and even though it was mint and I usually think gum is pretty sweet, it didn't really taste like anything to me. I like mushrooms now after my last pregnancy and craved them last time so I guess it's a healthy trade off. haha
Team blue/pink/green: waiting on the genetic testing, so should find out in the next week! I have a preference, but trying not to get too attached, since there is nothing I can do
Upcoming Appointments: next one in two weeks
How are you feeling?: generally OK, but definitely noticing more light-headedness and sensitivity to heat. The lower blood pressure seems to bring on a different kind of nausea (I'm distinguishing between belly and head nauseas...)
Rants/Raves: I got sunburnt! Not a usual thing for me, but I think I'm more sensitive to the sun right now.
Questions: besides a pregnancy pillow, is there anything you can do to make sure not to roll onto your back while sleeping? That's my usual position, and I find it's where I naturally end up by morning (but maybe that's because I'm not much bigger yet)
@cioccolata16 Yay for finding out your baby's sex soon! I will make an gender announcement thread so you can post there when you find out, if you want
You don't have to worry too much about sleeping on your back. I have been told by multiple medical professionals that it is possible that the weight of your uterus can compress blood flow, but you will know if that's happening and feel sick or dizzy and then you can just roll on your side. If you are sleeping, it will either wake you up or your body will adjust so you don't feel sick. It doesn't happen to everyone or every pregnancy, but if it does then you will know. I slept on my stomach until 20 something weeks with my last pregnancy and then I slept on my back, mostly, even though I rarely do outside of pregnancy and I was okay.
Team blue/pink/green: I still think boy, but hubs is having dreams that it's a girl, so who knows?!
Upcoming Appointments: Monday!!!!
