1st Trimester

HCG not doubling during 4th week

I tested positive after an IUI with clomid and ovidrel. I've been getting HCG beta blood tests from my RE. I'm worried that my last one did not double.

11dpo = 20 hcg
15 dpo = 172 hcg
17 dpo = 277 hcg

Last one only increased 60% which is the low end of normal according to some charts.

I also was feeling some symptoms the last few days - nausea, low appetite, cramping in my stomach - but today I feel completely fine with no symptoms at all. I'm so nervous that this means it may not be viable.

My next blood test is in 4 days and I'm not sure how to stay calm until then.

Re: HCG not doubling during 4th week

  • @nutmeg8190 They aren't testing it every 48 hours?  Why are they waiting 4 days?  That seems odd to me...

    The symptoms you are (or are not) feeling aren't something you should go by.  As long as you have HCG in your system you may experience those off/on.  And at this point, you're probably psyching yourself out and over analyzing every little thing and whether you truly 'feel' it or not.

    Just try to remember that you are PG right now.  That you have no control over the outcome, and the best you can do is to remind yourself that TODAY you are PG.  And you can love that baby TODAY.  You can love that baby every day you have it, regardless of whether that is to a live birth, 12 weeks of PG, or just 5 weeks of PG.

    I'm sorry, cause staying calm at this time is very difficult.

  • @stormageddon-darklordofall I think it's because I took it on Thursday morning and they aren't open over the weekend. So Monday is the next available is my assumption.

    Thank you so much for your response. I honestly think I'll be reading that 3rd paragraph over and over the next few days to calm myself down. I appreciate it!
  • nutmeg8190  Oh, yeah that would make sense.  Ugh, that's sucky that you'll have to wait even longer to find out the next number.  Sorry.  And I hope things work out positively for you!
