Constant headaches

For the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve been having a constant headache. I can’t even stand up, sit, or lay down without feeling like someone is squeezing my brain. I get so lightheaded and dizzy. I only drink water all day, everyday and I’m on summer break from work so I’m not overly stressed. Anyone else going through this?

Re: Constant headaches

  • Are you checking your blood pressure or could you be anemic? I had some bad cluster headaches about 1 and a half weeks. It was terrible, but I somehow managed to get through the days. For me, laying down felt better than being up or bending down to do stuff. Tylenol didn't touch it. I've been checking my blood pressure and it's been fine. I mentioned it to the Np at my most recent checkup and they said they would check my urine for stuff and just suggested taking Magnesium. Sometimes I still have a faint one but it goes away. I've always been a constant water sipper throughout the day, but the biggest thing I noticed in helping the headaches was CHUGGING a 25 oz yeti water bottle immediately after my cup of coffee in the morning and then trying to down another bottle of water in a short time period after that so for me I guess it was hydration and maybe the magnesium is helping, too.
  • I was having really bad headaches too and the only thing that finally helped was honestly a LOT more sleep... I mean a lot!!

Regarding water - are you making sure it has some salt in it?

Hydration: If you are drinking water make sure you have electrolytes in it so that it almost tastes salty.... otherwise just drink milk (best raw or at least not ultrapasteurized), it's better for you anyway.

Recommended by nutrtionist: If you need electrolytes I use Dr. Berg's electrolyte powder from Amazon.

Take a bath with magnesium salt. Have your hubby (or loved one) rub/massage your head. (top of the head helped me a bunch!)

  • I am having the exact same experience. My urine is fine at each visit. I am a teacher on summer break, so I’m not stressed, I am drinking lots of water, and I am getting plenty of sleep. I gave up caffeine when I learned I was pregnant, but my doctor suggested a small serving of caffeine or dark chocolate to help. I am going to try the electrolytes that someone else mentioned.
  • I get headaches like clockwork. Dr ran an electrolyte panel and my sodium was borderline low. I started taking LMNT electrolytes and I haven’t had a headache yet. Pregnant women’s electrolytes tend to be lower because of the amount of fluid we intake and expel. If you don’t supplement the electrolytes, you could possibly have an imbalance. Maybe ask your doc to check electrolytes?
