Birth stories

I love a good birth story. Hope you all are happily snuggling your little babes as we speak (type).

This birth I did Hypnobirthing again. I highly recommend it. My 1st 2 births were good but these last ones I used hypnobirthing with were so soo soooo much better.

I have a desire to never be pitted... but this time we had to due to scheduling help. 2 days before I did membrane sweep... not terrible but the contractions afterward were. I don't recommend. I almost went in the night before my induction but it never progressed. I was at a 3 for about a month. Went in to be induced and was at a 4.
I asked to just try breaking my water as my last one was very quick and my doctor rolled her eyes and said no we will do a 4 of pitocin. I said can we try a 2? And she said no. Haha I didn't feel like arguing as I was already having contractions and they spent nearly an hour getting my IV in. My arms are still bruised all over.
I got the pit and labored for about 20 min and said hey let's check me because these contractions are intense. She did and I was at a 6. In 20 min. I waited another 2 and said please check me again I feel so much pressure. She did I was at a 7, in 2 min. She left to go type some stuff and I looked at my husband, his Starbucks in hand and said I have to push he is coming please catch him. The nurse rolled her eyes and I lifted the sheets and arched my body sideways lifting a leg to show her and all hell broke loose. She ran around like a chicken with her head cut off looking for gloves. I again made stern eye contact with my husband and said here he comes don't drop him. And I pushed him out, honestly I'd call it aggressively box breathing that actually got him out, into my husband's arms. He caught him laid him down and then a whole team of 10 nurses came screaming in. A nurse who tried to get my IV in handed him to me. She said you make having babies no joke. He peed on my neck immediately 🤣. He was our smallest at 6lbs 14 oz. 20 in long and handsome as all his brothers. The Doctor came running in 3 min later and said wow, I've never seen anyone go that fast. Hmmm odd.

I of course had been having contractions for weeks and been at a 3 for a month fully effaced head engaged and destroying my pelvis, but sure that's fast.

The next day when my doctor came to check on me she apologized for not listening to me and doing what I asked. She said she would learn from the experience. Which was nice. She and I have very differing views on child birth and family planning, but to each their own. Although I'm paying for the service which would be nice to be heard.

We had nearly every nurse and doctor come in to shake my husband's hand. Haha our sons birth will be talked about for awhile in that L&D unit. Everyone who got us wanted to hear the story from he or I. Funny I recall on here some sassy ladies telling me husbands aren't part of this... hmm mine helped make and even delivered our baby... seems a big part. (Cough cough, silly broads)

The bill does not reflect a self delivered baby though. Let me tell you! Haha
I have nearly 50oz of milk stored and had him a week ago. If you can go unmedicated I swear it makes a huge difference in recovery. We are packing up for a road trip now. I have been hiking with my sons and even helped coach some TBall. I didn't have the same recovery with my 1st 2 that I got epidurals with.

I'd love the hear your stories as well. My cousins, aunts, grannies, etc. were all telling me theirs from castor oil nightmares of shitting their brains out to one having hers alone in her shower.  Every story is amazing. Our bodies and strength as women is truly something. I hope you all had happy healthy births and babes!!!

Re: Birth stories

  • Once upon a time, in a quaint little village nestled among blooming wildflowers and tall, swaying trees, a beautiful soul named Sarah awaited the arrival of her first child. Throughout the months leading up to this moment, she had poured all her love and anticipation into preparing for the birth of her little one. Together with her partner, Michael, they had painted the nursery in soft pastels and lovingly assembled a crib filled with dreams of the future.

The day had finally come when the sun rose gently over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the world outside. Sarah woke up with a feeling of excitement in her heart, knowing that today was the day she would meet her precious child. She gently nudged Michael, and they both shared a knowing smile that spoke volumes of their love and anticipation.

They made their way to the hospital, where Sarah was greeted by the kindest team of nurses and doctors. Each one seemed to radiate warmth and compassion, making Sarah feel at ease. Her mother, Jane, arrived, beaming with pride and joy, ready to support her daughter through this extraordinary journey.

Sarah settled into the cozy hospital bed, surrounded by an aura of love and care. Michael held her hand, reassuring her with every squeeze. The doctor, a wise and gentle soul, arrived and embraced Sarah with a warm smile, exuding confidence and experience.

As the hours passed, Sarah's contractions became more intense, and she focused her strength and determination on bringing her child into the world. Each wave brought her closer to the magical moment she had longed for. With every surge, Michael offered soothing words, reminding her of the love they shared and the incredible bond they were about to experience with their child.

Time seemed to stand still as Sarah found her rhythm, drawing on her inner strength and the unwavering support of her loved ones. The room filled with a sense of unity as if the whole universe paused to witness the miracle unfolding.

Finally, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the world outside, Sarah felt an overwhelming sensation that transcended time and space. With one final, powerful push, the room was filled with the most beautiful cry—a symphony of joy announcing the arrival of their little one.

Tears of happiness streamed down Sarah's face as the doctor gently placed the tiny, warm bundle on her chest. Michael wrapped his arms around both of them, forming an unbreakable circle of love. At that moment, their hearts expanded with immeasurable love and gratitude, knowing that their lives had been forever changed.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Sarah and Michael watched their child grow and thrive. They cherished every giggle, every new milestone, and every tender moment shared together. Their child's laughter filled their home with warmth, and their love for each other and their child only deepened with time.

And so, the tale of Sarah, Michael, and their beloved child continues—a story of love, hope, and the purest of connections that will span a lifetime and beyond. In this small village where love knows no bounds, a family was born, and their journey had only just begun. They discovered a nearby baby boutique that offered a wide range of essential items for their nursery. They also found a highly recommended pediatrician through Yelp, ensuring their child would receive the best care.
