Upcoming appointments: Not until 7/13 for my anatomy scan

How are you feeling? Better some days, worse others, can’t complain too much

Rants / Raves: my pregnancy gum tumor is back 😢 I’ve had it for both other pregnancies so I’m not surprised but it’s right in the front of my gums which makes it uncomfortable and makes me self conscious so I was hoping it wouldn’t happen this time…

    Questions: none

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.) Just sea monkeys, my toddler got them for Christmas and they’ve done really well until now. For some reason I can’t get the next generation to survive so they might not be around too much longer. DH will be happy he calls them the kitchen bugs and they gross him out

Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: Avocado

Upcoming appointments: Just had my 16w appt with my new practice. Waiting on a call from MFM to schedule anatomy scan

How are you feeling? Good! Starting to feel that second trimester glory.

    Rants / Raves:

Raves - I really liked my new practice. They were actually willing to discuss VBAC with me and went over their policies and views on VBAC. They encourage and support VBAC, so I'm hopeful this will be a good fit!

Rants - I'm dealing with really annoying administrative things trying to get mat leave set up the way I want and I'm annoyed that it even has to be a thing I have to deal with!

    Questions: N/A

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.)

We have 1 dog! We lost our other dog in January and we're definitely a two dog household. We are probably going to get another one sometime this summer once we settle in to our new house

  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days:

    FTM/STM/STM+:

    Baby #5

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise:

Surprise! Although DH and I think we have an idea due to a couple things at our anatomy scan last week. But we're choosing to ignore that/think we're reading too much into it.

Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of:

    A tomato

    Upcoming appointments:

    Next Thursday with my OB

    How are you feeling?

Pretty good lately. Some round ligament pain but I just have to be careful about how I move sometimes.

    Rants / Raves:

Rant - My in-laws told us that they want to come down and visit in August for the younger twins' birthday. DH had asked them if they were able to come down and help watch 3 of the kids while DD#1 and I were in New York so that DH could continue to save up time off for when the baby is born. He then called back the same day and said never mind after we discussed further, especially since they said they wouldn't be able to come down when baby is born if they came in August. So you'd think that less than a day wasn't enough time for them to set plans in motion. Apparently that's incorrect. They told DH the other day that they had already taken the time off. DH really wants them to come down when the baby is born and I had already decided that I won't be going to New York with DD. So I'm not sure why they're insisting on coming down in August. And even if they could make it here twice, I can't handle that amount of time with my in-laws in such a short period of time...

Rave - We're getting into a summer routine. Thank goodness! I love a good routine. For my sanity alone!

    Questions: None

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.)

@ashsowers2020 - DH and I feel the same way. Our life is crazy BEFORE adding in the furbabies!

    @kiek - She's gorgeous!

We have 3 cats (Loki, Gizmo and Maggie) and 3 dogs, 2 bully mixes and a Great Pyrenees mix (Gus, Mia and Bear).

    Upcoming appointments:

    Anatomy scan is on Thursday

    How are you feeling?

Pretty good actually. At my last appointment the doctor said my dizziness and stuff sounds like my blood sugar is tanking so she suggested eating every 2-3 hours and make sure I have some protein each time. It's seemed to help so I'm glad about that.

    Rants / Raves:

I don't have any pets right now. Having all the kids has been a lot and they've been begging for some kind of pet while I'm just trying to keep them alive lol

Baby is the size of an axolotl...?

    Upcoming appointments:
I've got my anatomy scan tomorrow!

    How are you feeling?
    Mostly just tired.

    Rants / Raves:
Rave: My boss finally approved me wearing maternity jeans for the remainder of the pregnancy, except on commission meeting or hearing days (which is totally understandable -- everybody is expected to dress more business professional than business casual on those days).

Rant: School being out for the summer is really messing with me. It's hard to get my oldest to understand that even though she doesn't have to be at school, I still have to go to work and bed time is still a thing. It's such a struggle. I want her to have fun for the summer and am trying to be a little more lenient on bedtime and screen time than during the school year, but getting up in the morning has been such a fight and I'm over it.

    Questions:
    I don't even know anymore..

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.)
We have 2 dogs adopted from the local shelter. Gemma is a 7-year-old pit or bully breed mix. She's basically just an overgrown lap dog who doesn't know her own size or strength, and will love anybody who gives her the slightest bit of attention. Rita is about 3 years old, and our best guess is that she's maybe a smooth collie or other shepherd mix. She's very skittish around people, including us, but has come a long way since we first got her and she and Gemma adore each other. With both me and my husband working, we thought it was a good idea for Gemma to have a companion of her own during the day.

Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: Philippine tarsier or dill pickle

    Upcoming appointments: Next week

How are you feeling? I finally kicked most of my cold. I thought the worst had past so I went to my work event last week, and everything decided to start breaking up and draining there, so that was gross. Pregnancy-wise though, I feel great. I'm just wearing out a lot faster than usual these days, which is to be expected.

Rants / Raves: Raves: We did the final walkthrough of our old house last weekend, so it is all ready for the new owners. DS2 is continuing to rock using the toilet, and it is so nice. 2 down, 2 to go lol. Rants: We are house hunting in the area DH starts his new job is 6 weeks, and there are no houses that work. With my working from home, and having 4 kids, we really need 4 bedrooms + extra space for when 3 bedrooms no longer works for sleeping arrangements. My sister got mouthy yesterday about just needing functional for now, and it's better to be together than apart (move #1 last year = solo parenting for 2.5-ish months). She's now mad at me because I told her to shove it. We aren't buying functional for now just to move later because that means attempting to sell the functional. The first move was really hard on the boys, especially DS2, and we just don't want that to happen again.

Questions: Is anyone else cramping in their lower belly? I'm assuming it's round ligament/stretching pain, but I have no clue how to fix it. My belly isn't that big yet, so the support band I have isn't working at all for it.

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.) We have a beagle and a cat. Our beagle is 10, and the cat is 9. I call them my coworkers, and every once in a while, cat makes an appears on Teams calls. The boys absolutely love the girls, and when they have food (or are covered in food), the feeling is mutual lol.

@varimama I hope your gum tumor resolves itself soon! That sounds painful. I have always been intrigued by sea monkeys and considered getting some for the boys. Are they easy enough to take care of?

@ashsowers2020 Are you doing a gender reveal? Friday is so close, yet so far away!

@Kiek Sciatica pain is the worst. I had it with DS3 for several weeks before he finally flipped away from it. I hope it resolves soon for you. I love that you have a coonhound that doesn't hunt with anxiety. We have a non-hunting beagle with anxiety lol.

@fitandnerdy That is exciting about your VBAC! I'm glad you'll get the opportunity to try! That would be really annoying with your maternity leave. I've always taken for granted that I just turn my paperwork in and get what I want. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

@UnwritteN12 That is crazy your in-laws are coming in August when you won't need them. I also cannot deal with my in-laws for larger amounts of time. With us being closer, they thought they'd visit baby at the hospital, or right after we got home, and that bandaid was fun to rip off the other day. For my previous babies, we were 10 hours away.

@ohsmith I'm glad eating every few hours is helping with your dizziness, and I'm also glad your family reunion was fun!

@stevieraem We aren't finding out, but DS1's HR was over 150 bpm, and DS2 and DS3's HR were under 150 bpm.

@chrissdee Yay for wearing maternity jeans! Dress pants are hard to find. We have that same fight in our house with bedtimes currently. It's hard for us because it stays lighter outside longer, so we let the boys stay outside longer than normal. We had to start making them go inside at their normal times because they were absolute nightmares to get up in the morning. DS1 is currently attending summer school this month, and DS2 and DS3 go to daycare. The older 2 boys would fight and scream in the morning, and it was awful. The last week or so I've been making them go to bed early, and it has been so much calmer. I hope you can find your happy medium because those mornings are rough.

  • Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov 18/17 weeks

    FTM/STM/STM+: 5th time mama

    Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: baby boy

Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: a video game controller

Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan next week with mfm

How are you feeling? Can't complain too much!! Heartburn has started and sleep isn't too comfortable anymore which is crazy at less than halfway yet lol.

Rants / Raves: so glad to have all my babies home for summer!! But along with that the adjustment has had some bumps in the road.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have pets? Feel free to share pictures of your fur-babies! (Touched on this in intros but that seems like quite a while ago now.)

We have a 12 year old cat and an almost 1 year old golden mountain doodle puppy.

  • @makingbacon I have the lower abdomen pain.  My OB said as long as I’m surviving it should go away within a few weeks. Try to relax when it flares up.
  • @makingbacon sadly gum tumor is here until a couple weeks post delivery 🫤 Until now sea monkeys have been super easy. Literally just have to feed them once a week. But clearly I’m needing to do something else to get the next generation to survive. I should look more into it but DH doesn’t like them at all… also I’ve been having some cramping too and I think you’re right and it’s round ligament pain and the uterus stretching! Still not pleasant though!

@ohsmith i so relate to the kids begging for a pet and I’m just like noooo I’m doing everything I can to keep you alive and don’t want to add more to it!

@UnwritteN12 I’m sorry your ILs are being difficult and it could jeopardize your trip

  • @varimama Does it just go away on its own? I always end up with a rash all over my back, so I’ve been waiting for that to arrive.
  • @makingbacon yea it starts getting smaller basically as soon as delivery and takes a couple weeks and then is back to pretty much normal! I’m sorry about your rash, hope you don’t get it this time!

    How are you feeling?
Ughh I've been having so much pain the last these days. It's been concerning. Called the midwives today and they think it's probably just my fibroids causing more severe pain. Makes me so worried about the rest of the pregnancy. I'm only 20 weeks. Is it bound to just get worse? It's like having constant period cramps interspersed with waves of intense, sharp pain.
    Rants / Raves:
I'm excited for two trips coming up in the next couple of weeks. First I'll be visiting Austin with my sister and cousin next week and then finally going to my husband's hometown in Alabama for the first time ever the week after! We've been together for eight years and I've never met his family. I'm excited to explore his old haunts and a part of the country I've never been to.
    Questions:
Does anyone have experience with pregnancy and uterine fibroids? Google isn't helpful because it says all sorts of scary things, but my midwives seem pretty casual about them. The pain is really hard to deal with constantly, though.
    GTKY: Do you have pets?
We have three dogs (Ragtime, Boogie Woogie, and Wilbur) and a cat (Duke). I love them all dearly, but the brown dog on the right is my best friend, my main man. I'm allergic to dogs and cats, so I scour the internet for rescue dogs that look like they belong in a trashcan, lol. It's worked for my allergies 2 out of 3 times, so far.
