HCG levels at 5 weeks

I just had a doctor's appointment, and she told me that  my levels of 22,000 were too low for 5 weeks. I have done a little digging online, and from the information that I have gathered, it seems to be a normal level for 5 weeks. But you would think a doctors option would be correct not google.

Has anyone else experienced this or know if 22,000 is considered too low for 5 weeks .

Re: HCG levels at 5 weeks

  • I’m not a doctor, but my first baby’s HCG level was 13000 at 5 weeks and I was told that was normal! She’s a healthy 1 year old now!

  • Was that your first HCG? My understanding is that they are looking for the number to double every 2-3 days. So if you had one before this and it didn’t double, maybe that’s what the doctor means?  From what I’ve read, there are really big ranges for “normal” and every person is a little different. It’s the growth in the number that is more important.
