Time between baby dropping and labor beginning

As new moms I figured this might be a good board to ask this question.....

How many weeks were you when your baby "dropped", and how long after that did you go into labor?

At my checkup today, doc said the baby had dropped and head was low in my pelvis and in position for the big day - she said it's still really hard to tell exactly when I'll go but that it "shouldn't be too long". Just trying to get a sense of how soon most women went into labor after baby dropped.

My baby dropped a bit about 5 days before my water broke. I was only 36.4 weeks along though. She did not fully drop until I was pushing her out, she had second thoughts about coming out.

The dr told me I dropped at like 37w. I didn't go into labor until 41w6d.

Dropped at about 33-34 weeks. I was induced due to high bp and pre-e at 38 weeks.

I dropped around 35 weeks, I think. We induced at 40 weeks 2 days because DD seemed to have no intention of moving along and my BP kept increasing.

I am willing to bet the answers are going to be all over the map on this one, but DD was at 0 station for a long time. I was induced at 38 weeks and I remember her being very low at my 35 and 36 week appointments, but they didn't do an internal then. I just remember sneezing and feeling like she was going to fall out.?

With my first, he dropped at about 37 weeks and my water broke on my due date. With my second, he didn't drop until right before he was born.

She didn't drop until I was in active labor! My placenta started detaching at 37 weeks, so they induced labor when she was still really high up.

I dropped around 35 wks, and went into labor at 40wks 6 days. ?I'm guessing it's going to be all over the map on this one, nothing about going into labor is predictable. ?And everyone's pregnancy/labor is different. ?Every time I asked my midwives about stuff like this, they always said, "it doesn't predict a thing". ?

Thanks, Ladies! You're right, this one really was all over the board! That's probably why my OB was so non-commital when I asked her about timing. Just glad to know that doesn't definitely mean labor is a week or two away! I still have way too much to do before the little one arrives :-)
