Anyone been or going through this.

I know maybe this isn’t the place but I’m trying to see if this has happened to anyone in a past or present pregnancy. I’m 17 weeks doctors had to do an ultra sound to find baby heart beat found it seemed normal but they found that baby bladder is full seems that it can’t empty or something and maybe a blockage. At first they thought I was cyst so need further ultrasounds to really see. But his or her bladder is back up they can’t do anything till baby is 20 weeks so it’s hard and it looks bad and I’m afraid for the baby because it can cause kidney failure or damage them badly like has any had this happen they said it’s not often it happens or that they see it I’ll be seeing a specialist in 2 weeks but I’ll be have a couple ultra sounds done before that. To check up on baby. This is hard news and has been hard news to swallow I’m doing my best to stay positive but I know I think of worst case too don’t want to I know if it worse comes to worse then I know I’ll have to make a decision. I just need to see if anyone has been through this maybe be able to give me in site.

@Theiskayla This happened to my friends' baby. I know there are some procedures they can do in utero to fix the issue depending on placement of the blockage and sex of baby but every baby and situation is different. Also sometimes the situation is able to resolve itself with time. My friends baby who had this problem is doing well now and is 3? years old. They had a very severe case that did result in kidney damage but they were able to get a transplant and are doing amazing and they are such a joyful little one now, fully enjoying life with their siblings (and with the cutest spunk to boot). Don't give up hope!

Thank you I need that my case seems to be really bad too just doesn’t look good at all nothing does but I did need to hear that because gave me much more hope doctors can do amazing things and babies can over come some amazing things as long as they are given time. Thank you I had nobody to relate to at all nobody so nobody could give me hope I’m glad you commented and told about your friend made my day I know every baby is different but if hers made through the the worst maybe mine can to the information doctors give me I know they are just being straight on what they’ve seen before in some cases but didn’t make me feel any better. Thank you

I had this during my last pregnancy. Turned out her bladder was full because…she hadn’t peed yet! The doctor said his son had the same thing and 90% of the time it clears up on its own and 10% of the time it requires a very simple, straightforward surgery and absolutely nothing to worry about
