Anytime I see anything news worthy thats COVID related I straight up ignore it. I spent so many months (years) at the beginning of the pandemic dedicated to being on top of new variants, advisories, etc that I just can't even go there now.
@mrsmtothek I can fully relate. My current youngest was born March 30, 2020, so it was right at the whole world was going crazy. The entire time I was in the hospital the TV's were on nonstop with COVID news and basically my whole maternity leave I was anxiously watching/ready everything, to the extent that once all of that was over I mentally just could not handle any more. I'm not living under a rock; we're doing what we need to do as far as taking precautions and vaccinating and all that. For my sanity's sake I just can't continue to take in more.
@chrissdee same! My youngest was March 10th 2020. We went into the hospital when Covid was just some thing happening in China and a few cases in NYC and the day we came home our state had shut down completely! I was paranoid and it was a mess for me emotionally on top of PPD.
I treat it like the flu now basically. We get our vaccines each year and if we’re sick or someone else is sick we stay home. Though my oldest is tricky, he had a lingering cough and was otherwise totally healthy so I sent him to school bc he was missing too much from illness this winter.

We sold our house in February 2020 and moved from PA to NC April of 2020. My husband was an on the road pipe fitter and my youngest is medically complex with special needs 🙃🫠. So I had to move the kids and the dog by myself. Fun times lol. Pretty quickly after we settled into our new home I realized there was no way we’d be able to quarantine. We just didn’t have the resources. My husband couldn’t come home. So we had to figure out how to just be out in it safely. I’m already careful because my youngest can end up in the hospital with a common cold. I was over it pretty early on lol.
