Mucus plug?

I’m 37 weeks now but at 36 weeks and 2 days I noticed a jelly like substance when I wiped. Only a little bit. Clearish yellow but looked different than normal discharge. I noticed more again the next day and then not again until yesterday. I asked my doc if it was my mucus plug and she said it could be. At my 36 week appointment I was 2 cm dialed but I’ve not had any contractions yet. I feel like I’ve felt her moving lower than I’ve noticed before. Do you think I could go into labor soon?

Mucus plug means nothing.

I walked around 4 cm dilated for 4 weeks before giving birth. 

Head was engaged at about 36 weeks. 

We cannot tell you if you will go into labor soon, or not.

I just had a baby…via induction. Third baby, had been losing mucous for weeks. Baby dropped around 34-35 weeks. Dilated for a couple weeks. Prodromal labor and pink spotting for over a week. Even my OB thought I wouldn’t make it to my due date. Still had to force her out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your mucous plug can also regenerate itself so it’s not a big indicator in and of itself. Bloody show is sometimes a better indicator of cervical dilation but also doesn’t guarantee labor is imminent.
