Very new to everything. Now I am worried about what to eat. Gotta make sure I read the guidelines. I did and I think it's fair.
Currently I eat a lot of chicken. Really getting tired of it. I still eat out and I know I shouldn't be it's so hard. Like maybe twice week I eat junk. This week I had a fish sandwich from McDonald's and Zaxby's fries with fried chicken white bread and smoothie.
Everyone keeps saying drink water but nobody ever tells you how much.
I eat lots of fruit in the morning. I take Calm laxative. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
I eat spaghetti. Oatmeal. Lots of granola with almond milk. I don't know if I am doing this right or not because the nurses at my prenatal clinic don't know what they are doing. They don't know how much I weight. Then they scheduled me for scan with out telling me.
I am so tempted to just get a scale but I don't wanna become obsessed. Any advice?
Re: What do you eat?
Are you concerned that you're not getting enough nutrition? That you might not eat healthy enough?
@cecemetta this is my 5th pregnancy, 4th baby. I've gained a ton of weight each time and always lose it. I'll be honest, I don't stress about my eating habits while pregnant. I try to maintain vegetable intake and definitely drink more water than normal (I shoot for 80-100 oz per day, although that doesn't always happen), but in reality I just eat whatever sounds good and prepare myself to reset my relationship with food postpartum.
Yesterday was a weird day, but Sunday was pretty typical, so I'll give you that as an example:
#3 was up at 5:00 so we split some waffles (just regular ol eggos with butter and syrup) + coffee
I felt hungry again around 7:30 so I had a bowl of cheerios + coffee
10:00 I was hungry again, so I had some peanut butter graham crackers
Lunch was a cheeseburger and fries from Five Guys
I had a rehearsal in the afternoon, so had a snack there about 2:00 (clementine, pirate booty, chewy bar)
Dinner at 7:00 was vegetarian nachos
Then some ice cream in bed around 9:00 while I read
So basically I eat all the time. I think the key is balance and listening to your body. I know I felt hungry all morning that day because I didn't have any protein with breakfast (first breakfast for me during the week is usually sous vide egg bites and sourdough avocado toast, second breakfast is usually greek yogurt with berries, granola and peanut butter). Obviously you want to minimize the big pregnancy no-no's, but even I don't eliminate those entirely.
