We are trying to conceive our first child after trying for 7-8 months. We just got results of some lab work and was hoping for some clarity as our follow up with our REI is not until another month.
I am 32 (F) and my spouse is 34 (M). My AMH a year ago was 6.7 but today the lab work showed 0.7. Although I know AMH can suddenly drop off, this seems really drastic in 1-2 years.
Normal periods
Other cycle day 2 labs seem normal:
FSH-8.4
LH- 2.1
Estradiol-30
Follicle count-24 on baseline US
Pending HSG and Sonohysterogram
Question is, should I try to repeat the AMH? Could this have been a mistake? No major health changes other than normal day to day stress.
Re: Sudden drop in AMH levels
A sudden drop in AMH levels can be concerning, but it's important to repeat the test to confirm the result and rule out potential errors. Other factors such as age, lifestyle, and medical history can affect fertility, so it's important to undergo a thorough evaluation with your REI. In the meantime, you may want to consider making lifestyle changes that can help support fertility, such as maintaining a healthy weight, getting regular exercise, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. You can also discuss with your REI potential treatment options that may help improve your chances of conception.
