FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5 / 31W3D Baby is the size of a: asparagus Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: biweekly check-up 3/10 How are you feeling?: in denial that baby will be here in just under two months! Rants/Raves: We're going on an overnight trip to an indoor water park this weekend! I'm nervous about DD trying to sleep in an unfamiliar place (she doesn't sleep well at Gramma's house even though she loves it there), but I know she's going to have the best time Questions: nope GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? My junior high band director was especially meaningful to me: he chose me for his advanced band because he recognized my talent, and he also took time out of his day to sit in on my solo performance because my parents didn't feel like attending. I'll always appreciate how he repeatedly chose me not because he needed to, but because he wanted to.
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 1 eviction; 31+2 Baby is the size of a: bunch of asparagus - my son thinks this is hilarious LOL Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: next Friday- I start my weekly NST/growth scan/biophysical screening appointments 🙄 How are you feeling?: MUCH better today- I had an undiagnosed UTI on Saturday and my back and stomach were hurting so badly, I honestly thought I was starting early labor. My OB apparently never tested my urine at fridays appointment, bc the immediate care doc said my bacteria levels maxed out the test 😬 Rants/Raves: SO happy to have under 8 weeks left at work til baby comes…ready for a break! Questions: nada GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? I had lots, but the most influential to my career were my college band director and flute teacher. I use their info and suggestions on a daily basis in my own teaching and life.
FTM/STM/TTM+: 4TM EDD / Weeks + Days: 6/2, 27+3 Baby is the size of a: Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: 3/17 with OB How are you feeling?: good! Just SO exhausted. It's been a long week. Rants/Raves: we lost power with the wind storms Friday night and it's still not back. Our electric company initially said Wednesday night, but now it's saying tonight (Monday). I don't trust that estimation at all, especially because there's been zero progress in removing the giant tree that fell on the transformer that services our neighborhood. Questions: thinking about requesting a 39 week induction, for lots of reasons that I'm happy to go into but won't take up the space if nobody's curious - has anyone been successful in scheduling a 39 week elective induction? I am a great candidate for induction (this will be my 4th vaginal birth, I always need pitocin even if my water breaks naturally, had a successful 41 week induction, blah blah blah) as long as my cervix cooperates and is thinning out nicely in the weeks prior so I'm thinking my OB will be on board GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? Man I had so many - and I'm really lucky to work with a lot of them now! Two that come to mind are my Theatre teacher (who is my mentor and like a second mom to me now) and my AP Composition teacher. Both of them really saw into the core of me when I was in a vulnerable and unhappy spot, and I'm so grateful for all they did to pull me back to center and help me figure out who I was.
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/5, 31+3 Baby is the size of a: asparagus Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments: regular OB and growth scan/checking placenta location next week How are you feeling?: Large haha. Mostly fine! Glad that some aches and pains are the worst of my complaints Rants/Raves: My mom visited this weekend and we went to see The Wiz, which was so fun. I’ve seen Wicked, but somehow never The Wiz! Questions: none GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? All of my elementary teachers were amazing and I loved all of them. My 4th grade teacher was probably my favorite. She loved soft/baseball and did a whole softball unit in the spring. The class split into two teams and we all learned how to play. I was not a sports kid, but I remember it being such a blast and she really fostered a supportive environment to make it fun for everyone.
Most memorable is probably my high school choir teacher… he made it a point to terrify the freshmen into maintaining order in the classroom the first few months (in my district you had to take one year of some sort of art or music in HS so there were a lot of freshmen who were in choir because it was the least objectionable option to them) but was the kindest, funniest, most encouraging teacher once he knew you weren’t a menace lol
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/16 29w6d Baby is the size of a: acorn squash Team blue/pink/green: blue Upcoming Appointments:3/17 How are you feeling?: Tired, but we stayed up to watch a doc on the Murdouch trial so was self inflicted. I posted about the intense pelvic pain I get in the Symptoms thread. Excited to try out this new belt. Rants/Raves: @ashleyp625 same boat. I don't have any rants/raves except yay 10 more weeks but also yikes 10 MORE weeks. Questions: NATM GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? Junior high language arts teacher. She was fantastic. I was always a big reader, but she really fostered my love for reading. She was a very popular teacher, but so loved. She passed away my senior year of HS, and we made a scrapbook for her sort of a look at us now 4 years later sort of thing.
@hestia-is-wearie I am sure that DD will be so excited/worn out from all the fun that she will sleep really well!
@BourbonBiscuits so both of mine were elective, but also recommended (if that makes sense) for my oldest, my BP had been high towards the end (like last 4 weeks or so, they thought maybe white coat syndrome. because it always went down, but was still high) two weeks before he was born our house flooded resulting in a complete house reno and we went from hotel to hospital to condo with a newborn for six months before moving back. OB recommended it that it would be nice to have something to plan for with all we had going on. With my youngest, I had GBS and was on the fence about it but she mentioned the antibiotics for it and it was nice to be able to plan for MIL to be here for my oldest. Much easier process with DS2, I did red raspberry tea, dates and bouncing on a workout ball, so 10 hours from check in to birth vs my oldest with 24 hrs. I did the cyrotech, foley balloon and pitocin for both. Not sure what will happen with this one!
@BourbonBiscuits my son was born at 39 weeks due to high blood pressure, and they’re already planning for this one to be around then as well, if my numbers look good. I think if you have reasons and your doc is on board, it should be okay. Def not a professional but I know that’s considered full term.
@BourbonBiscuits My first two were both before 40 weeks (39 week induction due to pre-eclampsia symptoms getting too aggressive which ended in an unplanned c section and scheduled c section at 39+3 and thr second planned for 39+3 but ended in an unplanned c section at 37+3 because that kid does what she wants) and my current is scheduled for 39+1 weeks. That overshare to say, in my life 39 weeks would be normal. I see family doctors and not OBs though, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: 29w5d Baby is the size of a: pop Team blue/pink/green: pink Upcoming Appointments: next week How are you feeling?: Huge, even though people say I don’t show much. Rants/Raves: My 3 year old is currently hilarious and I feel like I like her more the older she gets. It makes me nervous to start over with a baby, but when my 3 year old was a baby I liked her just fine. It’s a weird fear but I’m worried I don’t like babies anymore because I like my three year old? This probably won’t be how I feel all the time but even if it is the baby will eventually turn into a three year old +. Questions: natm GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? My piano teacher! She only ever had positive things to say. She was nearing retirement and would drop students who didn’t practice, so actually it made my parents have to be the people who nagged me to do it, because she wasn’t going to. 🤣
@BourbonBiscuits I requested and got scheduled for a 39 week induction the first time, but then I got pre-eclampsia and got induced at 38 weeks. 😂 Even though I’m legally entitled to maternity leave etc etc it’s hard on my coworkers to fill the work schedule while I’m out, so I wanted *some* predictability and didn’t want a lot of can’t work but not delivered time off but also didn’t want to be working past 39 weeks. 😬
Baby is the size of a: Zucchini (has to be from a home garden and not store bought)
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: 3/15
How are you feeling?: Swollen feet and calves that hurt. Never swelled in any of my other pregnancies. My back is doing a lot better, still have the sciatic pain but not as often or as painful 🙏🏻
Rants/Raves: baby shower is 3/11 excited to have it but sad it’s raining. We had to rent a tent with walls and clear out space for people to sit. I do wish I had someone to plan it for me but I’m the only event planner out of my friends. Spent 2 weeks slowly doing everything.
Questions: what do you do for swelling?
GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? Don’t think I have a favorite, I was in a small charter school so all my teachers were special to me.
Sorry I've been so MIA. I really do love coming on here to check up on everyone! Also: If anyone wants to take this to private group I would really support that. Once my December 2019 group went private it got a lot better tbh! I still talk to those ladies 3 years later.
STM
I am 30 weeks and 5 days.
Baby is the size of A winter squash lol Team Green
Upcoming Appointments: So I just had another US scan to check on the umbilical chord and growth, they realized my chord is NOT Velamentous, and that its Marginal which was a relief. Then they said the growth was super tiny like 13th%tile, but last check up was great. Growth was up passed 19% so I am feeling relieved. Passed my Glucose test too, by a HAIR.
How are you feeling?: Pretty okay, Sleeping good. I just feel very heavy and hard to bend over. I really wish my husband would just pick up shit off the floor for me. I have reminded him twenty five thousand times that I am done bending over lmao.
Rants/Raves: see above. other than that I feel pretty prepared this time mentally. I know what to expect and I'm just anxious bc my son was early (5 weeks) that this baby will come early too, so nursery is totally complete as of this week. I feel relieved about that. I even have leftover newborn diapers from last time that I put up in the drawers. Feels real now! Also excited we are squeezing in one last trip the three of us to Clearwater next Weds. I cannot wait to get our of the Chicago cold!
GTKY: Who was your favorite/most memorable teacher growing up? I love how many Band ppl we have here! My band director was also awesome.
