Fully Effaced 33 Weeks

I was having some BH contractions yesterday afternoon but they were more intense than usual. They became very frequent (every ~5 minutes within an hour) so I called labour and delivery. I went in to get checked out and they said I wasn’t having any contractions and baby is happy :) …but the doctor said I was fully effaced even though my cervix has not dilated at all. What does this mean? Doctor didn’t seem concerned at all but I feel it’s soon to be fully effaced. Google is saying labour is near but I’m wondering why the doctor didn’t say anything. Thoughts?
