Late ovulation, scan measuring 5 weeks

Hi all,

I found out I was pregnant around 3 weeks ago and went for an early scan yesterday. They said the scan showed me to be 5 weeks and 2 days and they could see the gest sac and the yolk sac.

I worked out conception to be 5 weeks and 2 days ago also when looking at my calendar. Because everyone was saying to calculate from my last missed period, I thought I was 8 weeks but I hadn’t actually ovulated until day 21 so just slightly confused by all the dates. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you are right on track. Because most people don’t track ovulation so precisely they use LMP until they can confirm with a scan. Since you already know that you ovulated later in your cycle than day 14 which is usually used then you shouldn’t be worried. Congrats.
